Front Hitch 31076 vs 31367
Hey there folks,
Have searched and found a couple threads which talk about the 31367 front hitch:
BREAKING NEWS..... About Front Trailer Hitch
Question for those with the curt 31367 front hitch
Looks like the 31367 can definitely fit a TE however doing the searches there is no mention of this new hitch 31076 or C31076. Tried to search it both ways, nada.
The 31076 here https://www.etrailer.com/p-C31076.html
Calls it our for 2014 - 2016 SR5 and TE. The two look very different as the 31076 has side attach tabs (the long ones) and the 31367 does not.
I was curious if anyone has installed 31076 and can comment or anyone with a keen mechanical eye that can comment would be great.

That must be a new hitch by Curt.
Looks like Curt took a suggestion I gave them and modified a 31054 to bring the receiver bar up to where it is just under the bumper like the 31367. The attachment scheme on the 31076 looks like a 31054. I have a 31367 on my 2016 SR5 as the 31054 hung down way too far. At the time there was no 31076 and Curt did not think the 31367 would work on my 2016 SR5, but it fit just fine.

Interesting. Well i ordered the 31076 so will see how it goes in a week or so. Should make pulling my toys in and out of the tight spots a lot easier. Even better can put a hitch skid to keep the folks that don't know how to park a going away present if they hit it. In two and a half months the rear bumper has been hit twice and the front once. Hoping I can make the rear passable until some real damage hits. Front wasn't bad as I was able to put black valances on instead. Wish we had recovery points on these bumpers, tighten down the D-Rings so they point forward. Never had bumper issues in 7 years doing that with the front and rear on my H3. Even watched a guy on his phone forget to shift into park as he rolled forward nailing my recovery point, dented his bumper, not even a mark on the back point.

Very nice - now would love to watch faces of people parking at Wash Park having to parallel park. Awesome.

@ Salvo Jimmy
- Thanks for posting your picture. I just ordered a Curt 31367 front hitch to attach my fishing rack on the front and a Curt 18153 folding rear basket to hold additional coolers on the back.

i'm running out of space in the trunk and my hitch cargo carrier. my additional option will be the front hitch and the roof. I wonder if i could drive it that way for long road trips.

Recommend using one of these on the rear as I do. Will give you a much better departure angle going over ramps and cuts on the beach and it allows in my case to open the hatch back with coolers on the rack. Also allows me to stand between the rack and rear of vehicle with hatch open
BTW I also use the Z-bar on the front that raises the rack to give a better approach angle.

- Thanks! I also have to worry about departure angles getting on and off the Ferry's when I head to CALO and especially Portsmouth Island. Depending on the tide, and erosion, you never have the same arrival/departure angles. I have seen folks get hung up on the deck of the ferry trying to get off. I plan on traveling to my location with the rear deck folded up and once I am on the island for 5 days, moving cargo from inside to the back. That way I free up the inside for sleeping! The warmer temps the past few years has made it necessary for me to bring more coolers with Ice to keep us going.
