Moderator Note, Tire and Lift Doc Updates

1. We have been getting a LOT of threads started lately about topics that don't specifically apply to a 5th Gen 4Runner. They are about tires, radios and stuff that apply to all vehicles and are not model specific. While this is all well and good, I also get complaints from other members that come here wanting to read 5th Gen 4Runner specific content. I understand that people feel comfortable posting here and want to ask this specific group some questions. This is a good group here. Unfortunately this is a 5th Gen 4Runner group, so from now on, anything that is not 5th Gen 4Runner specific I am going to move your thread to the correct sub forum.

2. I'm pretty sure most of you reading this know that a small team of 12 members are developing a Tire and Lift Guide as these two topics are the most popular questions. This guide will make use of existing documentation already located in this forum in addition to developing some new information. The best part of this is all information and links will be in one place and it will be peer reviewed so the information presented will be the best we can offer. Look for a thread soon on this topic. As we are working on it we will post updates.

That's all. Have a great week!

While I totally appreciate the thrust of trying to clean up the section....

Many of the threads seem to be non 5th gen specific... but in reality the topic (or root of the problem) is very 5th gen specific..

Great example.... guy just posted a thread about cooper tires and vibration.. you just moved it. I would have never seen this thread in the general discussion...

But I believe the root of his problem has nothing to do with the tires. He has a wheel with a mismatched center bore to the 5th gen. Now, my opinion may be wrong... but he probably would have never gotten that input in the general section.

No big deal.. just thought I would throw out another point of view.

In all honesty.. the 4th and 5th gen are so close that they should really be in the same section. It would be nice to have a 120/150 "technical" discussion section. Leave the existing sections for all the cosmetic stuff....
