Front Runner full length roof rack. First production run rack install.
So I guess I can claim the title of first intstalled production run full length roof rack by Front Runner on a 5th gen...
Rack came in today! immediately installed it for this weekends meet up at the cove.
We worked with front runner getting measurements a few months ago on where to drill for the front mounting locations. The work paid off, was one of the first 10 of the first shipment of racks.
This is not a step by step install post, we didn't have time, were we're racing against the sun and rain.
Here's the pictures I do have..
Before
Naked roof
Sides are up for marking on the holes.
This is a scary tool to have near such a nice truck...
Here I am whispering softly to it telling it it's going to be ok..
The end result of a few tears..

Looks good!
Couple questions...
How's the wind noise?
Will there be any lower profile options, or if we want to go that route should we go with what
@ Gabex35
did?

The profile can't get and lower. Only about 1/8" between the rack and the roof antenna. It actually sits lower than my previous rack.

Yes it has a wind fairing under the front cross member, hard to see in pics but it's there.

Mounted the hilift and traction boards last night. Super simple with $4.32 in bolts and nuts. Can't complain about that! Also it's very quite. I'd say it more quite than my buddies Baja rack or my old rack.

Yes selling it to a buddy, unless you can talk him out of it...

I was seeing this on IG this morning. I am slowly coming around to the idea of drilling for a roof rack, but convincing my wife is going to be a whole other bag of tricks. I think she loves my 4R almost as much as I do.
The end result looks really good though!!!

I never tell my wife about the holes I've cut in my truck, ignorance is bliss. She loves having a refrigerator in the back and thats all she needs to know. Thanks god for the occasional business trip, she flies out, a cold beer pops open and the saw comes out.
OP, your rack, um, looks great...

Does the ladder clear the rack without issues?

The setup I have has some adjustment in the mounting feet, where his is a fixed height due to the one piece bracket. there are pro's and cons to each IMO. I just picked up another rack for a trailer I am building and I'm not a fan of the one piece mounting bracket. I feel the 4 feet per side are stronger, although a bigger pain to setup right.
