Need help PLEASE!!!! Rear roll out cargo deck.

Just bought a new 2016 4Runner Trail premium model. I'm trying to have the roll out cargo deck installed to surprise my wife for Christmas. She really wanted it! My dealer is telling me they can't install it, that this feature has to come from the factory already installed.

My question is this. Is my dealer right? Or can I install the rear roll out cargo deck myself?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP OR ADVISE!!!!

Anything can be done with enough money and time. A dealer probably wouldn't want to take the time but I'm sure you could get the parts and install. You would want to find someone that ripped theirs out ideally, you might find this thread useful...

Has anybody ADDED a rear sliding cargo tray?

I pulled my cargo try out awhile back and I've been meaning to post it for sale. It's pretty beat honestly, I kind of use the back of my 4runner like a pickup truck. It's scuffed, dirty and has a small cut in the top from an unfortunate camping incident so I would let it go pretty cheap.

All the parts are there and it functions like a champ.

Did he even look up a price for the parts? If the price of a factory roof rack is any indication, a 2nd or 3rd job maybe necessary to swing the deal.

I tried to order one when I bought mine and later at my local dealer. The dealer parts system doesn't even list the parts for them. To the best of their knowledge it is a factory installation. Your best bet is finding someone on here. They do pop up in the for sale thread occasionally. But you are looking at digging down to replacing even the floor in the rear area. I ended up getting one of these a couple years ago. I'm still happy with it so far, and it is easily removed if you need it out for something else.
