Overlanding USA SR5 5th Gen Build Thread

"Always Adventuring, Always building"

So I have never been big on Forums, but I really have grown to love this community and forum as a whole so I decided to do a build thread on the truck!

Got the 5th gen in May of 2015 after going on an Overland Trip to South Dakota in out 2wd 4th gen and getting hopelessly stuck.

Whether that has always been the driving factor in how the truck has turned out today I'm not sure but probably lol.

Anyway it started out simple.

But didn't last to long:

Current Mods:

Suspension:
Front
-Bilstein adjustable shocks set to .85 inches,
-OME 887 springs
-Light Racing UCA's
Rear
-Bilstein 5100's

Wheels and Tires:
-TreadWright Guard Dog 285/70/17 MT tire (33.2 inches)
-Stock 4th gen 4runner wheels
-Spidertrax 1.25" wheel spacers front and back

Armor:
-Relentless Fabrication Predator front bumper
-Relentless Fabrication Bolt on Rock Sliders
-Relentless Fabrication Front Aluminum Skid Plate
-Relentless Fabrication Rear Bumper w/single swing arm

Exterior/Storage:
-LabRak full length roof rack
-Rino lined Fender Flairs
-Mud Flap deletes
-Land Cruiser Prado 150 Snorkel kit

Overlanding Gear:
-Geo Adventure Gear GT-165 roof top tent w/annex
-Geo Adventure Gear Manta Awning (coming Soon)

Recovery Gear:
-Smittybuilt 9.5 winch with Synthetic line
-Traction Jack Recovery Boards

Nice 4Runner. What's that on the front bumper in the last picture?

I like the 4th gen wheels on a 5th gen. It always seems to get done the other way around

@Overlanding USA ..Curious how are those 889's coupled w/the Bilstiens treating you with a load out? A lot here have questions on rear spring choices with suspension setups balancing weight load-outs..

So far not to many issues, the only complaint I think I would have is under high stress situations they start to overheat and not work as well. Only real time that I have noticed it though is at the end of a long trail day like when we run the Mojave rd. At the end of the day the ride can get a little rough, but for 99% of the stuff we do it is great. Plus they are still good on road which is most of my driving.

As soon as we start needing it! ;)

But in all seriousness, we are probably going to re-gear to a 4.56 at some point, so it will go in when we do that. Most likely front and rear.
