Made a shifter knob

I don't know what happened or when, but the price of shifter knobs has gone full retard, so I decided to make my own.

I wanted a pretty simple design, and I wanted it to be plastic as alloy is far too dang cold in the winter here. So Delrin it was.

I'm very happy with it.

At some point I might turn another one with provisions for leather...

Looks good man- simple but effective and different. You should turn one similar for the manual transfer stick to match em up. Nice work.

...And definitely agreed on the full retard thing.

Thanks,
I might just do that. I need to figure out what the thread is for that knob as it's larger then the other (which was M8 iirc).

It was made in a CNC lathe. I work in a machine shop and my old brain is starting to learn programming. I've always used manual machines.

Thanks

Shift Knob

Nice work.

I think for the transfer case knob I'd still need the diagram of 4x4 positions because sometimes I need a reminder of where they are.
Talking about old school methods, I still use a pencil to draw my structural details. The young kids in my office use AutoCAD.

I like the shape. All it needs is a nipple.
