It's actually been a while since I've posted but I've been keeping an eye on the forums!
Last fall, I came up with the brilliant idea to document our family's foray into overlanding, learning off-roading and gaining experience in spending more time outdoors. As I learned about overlanding, the idea became more and more intriguing to me and as we started planning and taking trips, we became hooked.
As a bit of a creative outlet, an accountability partner to make sure we keep getting out there and possibly some inspiration for others, we created a YouTube channel for our vlog series.
I'm not sure it would be polite for me to clog up the forums with a new post every time we release a new vlog (weekly), but if it's ok with all of you, I'll update this post with the videos as we release them.
To get started, I'll post our first video and the last two here, and if you would like to see any of the others, perhaps I could invite you to visit our channel on YouTube.
Our first few vlogs we get started off on overlanding on the Georgia Traverse. We have visited the Apalachicola National Forest and have visited a few off-road destinations to get some experience handling obstacles, etc.
We just released our 13th vlog last night, which was our first small trip (mostly an experimental trip) with our new-to-us Turtleback Trailer we purchased from another forum member. Actually, I believe our actual trailer was the Expedition Portal demo unit from 2015 - but please correct me if you happen to know better.
We also just returned from 3 days on the Trans American Trail and will be releasing that three day vlog series in a few weeks time.
I'm not sure I'm doing the right thing to get these videos to embed - on this forum there isn't the filmstrip icon and I'm not sure the iframe code is working. But I know YouTube videos can be embedded as I've seen others do it - so sorry!
Edit: looks like they embedded fine! Just wasn't showing on the preview.
What a crazy coincidence - the wife and I stumbled upon your vlogs earlier this week on YT (we've seen all of them by now and have subbed) and just this morning I was trying to find your build page by searching Google but came up with nothing before I had to head into work!
Really entertaining to watch, I love the honesty in the videos and the style is great. While there are some who already know it all, I'd confidently say this whole journey is really new to all of us and to get your feedback on things is super refreshing to see. Growing up we weren't blessed with the freedom to adventure the great outdoors so we both are trying our best to do so now.
Thanks for the time and effort you take in making these, and make sure that darn mic is turned on next time haha!
Great job! I've been following on Instagram for a while and am working my way through the Vlogs. I'd be happy to hit some trails with you if you're back up this way.

Haha. Thanks!!
I don't remember if I ever created a build page here - frankly I've meant to be more active here but I've stayed pretty busy!
Growing up we didn't spend a lot of time doing outdoorsy stuff either so we're raising our kids to appreciate it!
I'm getting better with the mic!
