Another Southern Style Offroad bumper install

So Finally got to install my bumper a few weeks ago but didn't quite finish with some of the accessories. So while bolting up the left side swing out I found out that it was really close to the rear door. The Side ladder was also close to the tail light. Few bolts and seals were missing. Cutouts for the rear backup light also missing. After speaking with Kevin and Gwen about the issues they've decided I needed a replacement left side swing out with accessories and side ladder. They also refunded me the money for the backup lights once i returned them back.

I mocked up the bumper for the photo opt. here are some pics of the offending issues i have.

Interesting...

My side ladder sits like that as well. I was able to shim it out a bit but the front bumper still doesn't touch the window. Everything else was great with mine but the side ladder is a problem for me. Let me know how the replacement ladder goes on and if it fits better. I may be calling him to replace as well.

Nice looking bumper.

I would order that bumper if they still produced it. I'm sure that they will make things right.

Your rear ladder looks completely different from mine.

I have the same issue with my ladder as well. In fact, it seems like my bumper has a tweak in it. The gap on my passenger side near the tail light is much greater than the gap on the driver side. I also had to put 3 of the shims in the passenger side and 1 shim in the driver side in order for the 'front' of the bumper not to rub on the fender. All in all, it has been a bear of an install and I am hoping to tackle the camera relocate today/tomorrow. Any pointers? Interested to hear how your situation turns out

Still haven't had mine fixed. No calls with updates or anything.

Waiting patiently, ordered this June of 2016.

Yours looks a lot better than mine. I had ordered the backup lights as well but they screwed me on that too. Sent me the lights but they didn't cutout the holes for them. So your rear latter latch doesn't hit the badge?

Everything clears great, there's no contact anywhere on the vehicle itself. My only gripe about the design is the swing out part for the Rotopax mounts. There's actually nothing securing that piece to the ladder itself. It just hangs there, and they put a hole on the side so you can put a padlock on it. I don't know about you, but I don't want to unlock a padlock every time I need to use the ladder. With that said, I don't really use the ladder anyways, so it doesn't bother me all that much. I wish it was just a Rotopax mount and nothing else...

I also wasn't happy with the parking sensor holes. Those weren't very well thought out because it was a complete pain in the ass to install. I wish I could go back and uncheck that box because I don't use them anyways since my front bumper doesn't have them installed currently.

Aside from those small issues I'm satisfied with the bumper. I think it looks great, and it can take a hit. I was missing a few bolts here and there, but their customer service has been pretty exceptional and sent me the missing parts immediately.

Although, had Expedition One come out with theirs sooner I could see myself going with that instead.

Yea, if i would have known about these issues i would have purchased elsewhere also. The Expedition one is a pretty clean setup

My bump stop for the tire swing out sheered off. Weak weld I guess. Also one of the bolt heads on the inside of the swing arm rubbed the paint off of my rear hatch, about half the size of a penny. It took ten months to receive as well...

Would have have gone with cbi if I had a time machine.

Now I can see why they discontinued producing them. Nice design but poor execution.
