Totally agree! Personal opinion isn't very high of WeatherTech and I've never had Husky. It is bewildering that manufacturers don't realize these things sooner.

Yep, plug and play. That's why I go them. Cost isn't cheap though: $299. Link on Crutchfield
Didn't do anything else besides plug them in and put some dynamat on the doors. Their tweeter bracket didn't exactly fit. I had to flip it around and install the tweeter in the opposite direction from what it is meant to. Seems like it will still hold OK though.

The Salex organizer is a ripoff. Save your money and buy spray cans of fluid film and undercoat the truck to prevent future rust that will happen if this is not done. Oh and for the organizer...use an empty six pack holder or two from your favorite beer. Does the same thing as the Salex and you get the bonus of refreshments creating the organizer while undercoating/protecting your truck.

Now that's an interesting idea. I could use a bit more leg support. The seat is a bit flat and low (but not nearly as bad as the Tacoma). Did you do this on the front posts?

The angle of the seat can also be adjusted using the buttons (only for the driver's seat).

Yeah, I was able to adjust mine so the front tilted up quite a bit.

Here are some of mine in the spirit of usability and on the cheap!
Hitch receiver for D-ring
https://www.amazon.com/Smittybilt-29.../dp/B001CF1A7O
Recovery strap. NOT Tow
https://www.amazon.com/Rugged-Ridge-...recovery+strap
Having those two things makes it a lot easier to get help when stuck!
Skip the $1500 drawer pullouts and get yourself 2 or 4 of these. they go on sale frequently for $20-25. You can stack two side by side for a lot of storage with space behind even with the rear seat up. Or take them out easily and put something else in there.
Rubbermaid 9S31 Gray Brute 20 Gallon NSF Tote with Lid (FG9S3100GRAY)
They hold a TON of stuff. (not the board or tape gun) then some.
The bathmats slide forwards to cover the back of the seats for doggos. As you can tell from the dust I'm not AR about some dust or dog hair but wet paws are are something I don't need to smell all week.

But I'm waiting to post anything about it until I get it completed...

1) Aren't you concerned with the glove box organizer from preventing you from storing an owners manual, or any manuals at all for that matter?
2) I have heard that cars built with halogen headlight housings are not meant to be converted to HIDs, and in fact it can be illegal to do so. What are your thoughts on all of this, and why do you think in 2017 Toyota is still not using HIDs on a 4runner? Some benefit to a halogen maybe?
3) I think I might agree and opted for the OEM floor mats as well. We'll see how it goes! And I am a dog owner and plan on the canvas back cargo liners as well, despite the price...Just have to decide on a color...I noticed one of the responders here said black, but that seems like it would show dirt the easiest.
4) Regarding the owners manual, is this just something you can view online? Or is there a way for them to send an actual manual to you? I would have thought one would be included in the truck....
5) Regarding the window tint, you say "front windows". Do the rear windows come pre-tinted, and in that case, is the $100 "deal" this guy at the dealership offered me a rip-off?
|
Dude you live in Phoenix, invest in some quality tint as mentioned above, the Llumar one that helps with heat rejection as well. Also if you have Facebook check out Arizona 4Runners page. Lots of cool people and we try to get together and hit some trails around here.

I added these body-side moldings. They're solid, have a nice color-matched finish, and will offer some protection against parking lot dings.

I recently bought a TRD Off Road Premium and the first thing I did was an LED interior and reverse light swap. Best 30 bucks I've spent so far.

Yes, I took the front two bolts out of each front seat, took them in the hardware store and bought a bunch of larger washers to handle the weight etc. I wanted a larger washer so the seat post was completely supported and not teetering on them. I think I ended up with 5 after toying around with what felt good with all the different seat angles etc....also made the wife do the same. I put them under the seat bracket and put the seat blot through them on both the driver and passenger sides. . I will tell you to make sure that the washer is as tight to the bolt whole size as possible for safety reasons and that they are good and snug when you tighten them down.
My biggest complaint with the T4R and the Taco were the way the seats felt like they were almost dumping you in the floorboards. I am not overly tall, 5'11 but I am all legs and arms so I sit with the seat back in it's furthest position. (Yes I apparently have the torso length of Barney Rubble ) This very cheap fix worked like a charm! I put them in when I bought the truck in 2015 and I have had zero issues. Super easy, super cheap and a nice way to improve your cabin! Good luck!
