Red face ARB Summit Bumper

I really like the looks of this...much less traditional than the older models..

they actually offer two different powder coat options...

1. Satin (in the pic)
2. Integrit

I actually prefer the 10-13 version with filler plates better on the 14-17 body

Other than the fact that this (looks) to not stick out as far, I agree. I can't understand why so many companies have us cutting through that area rather than just have an integrated solution- it can't be a weight thing for that small of an area. It's a total waste of the OEM bumper and it looks silly to cut through those design cues. I understand that at the end of the day it's about functionality but it just seems lazy. 4x4labs and Pelfrey are the only ones who have truly gotten the look right in my book.

Keep in mind that the body will flex and potentially rub on the bumper. It's not a sure thing but it's a risk when wheeling hard. That's a reason why many companies don't do it and just offer filler plates are require cutting. The .25 to eighth of an inch of tolerance is just enough to prevent body damage. Thst said I don't know how Pelfreybilt accounts for body flex in their design.

The flex will be more dramatic the further out the bumper goes, so they created enough gap so that it won't be an issue. But there's a reason why it doesn't butt up tight to the body in certain places.

How much of the fender liner needs to be cut for the ARB?

I like it. Also looks aside, you can be sure that ARB bumper has been engineered properly to provide you with superior performance and safety versus the other brands out there. I like the other brands mentioned but ARB tests the crap of their bumpers and they will perform.

For what it's worth... when I installed my Schrockworks bumper, I left about 1/4" for things to shift.... first time out, I came down hard on the front corner. It shifted up and made contact with the sheet metal on both sides. I got home and readjusted it for more room. I've never had the same issue again.... so give yourself plenty of space.

Personally this bumper wasnt on my wish list BUT being in Canada it was pretty much the only bumper available. Everything else with exchange and shipping would be $2500 plus. Here's what I need to cut. This is with 255/80/17

Looks really good. These are also the nicest versions of full hoops that I've seen yet.

Easy answer: Bumper covers are $200. You can't make filler plates for $200. Want to go back to OEM - buy a new bumper cover.

This is one of the only after market bumpers I would seriously consider putting on my 4runner. I just don't like most of them visually and this one fits the body lines nicely.

Couldn't agree more @Simpleman74

I have seen both these upfront and next to each other and 10-13 version is by far better "looking" and with the Limited bumper cover it's the way to go on the 14-17 Runners.

The Summit Bar is more advance and newer design, but I personalty like the older version more.
