I had my 6112/5160's and T13's installed last Friday. I used the #6 setting on both sides with KDSS. My truck was pretty level to begin with (a little less than 1/2" lean) so I set them equal. I ended up with about 2.25" in the front and a little over 1.5" in the rear. The truck is still pretty even in the lean dept. so far.

Great setup overall. I am very happy with the ride. Not too jarring, but definitely stiff. Eliminated all the horrible brake dive that I was experiencing. Now to take it out on some trails...

Front is level, rear is off by about 1/2...passenger low. Close enough I guess with the tolerances. Don't notice it visually which was my biggest concern. Will track it over the next few months...if it stays, may use a trim spacer in the rear.

I have the same set up, and the difference/lean drove me nuts. The 5/6 notch thing that Bilstein recommends is for non-KDSS equipped vehicles to help offset the weight of the battery and fuel tank (drivers side). For KDSS equipped, you should have them set the same on both sides.

Total BS on the bilstein instructions, and I send them a note saying they should revise their instructions. Apparently it fell on deaf ears.

.
From my understanding, KDSS vehicles do the opposite of the instructions...one higher clip setting goes on passenger side instead.

Seemed to work for me.

awesome! no lean from the 5/6 setting? I wonder if the more current 4Runners have an updated KDSS system that levels out? I set mine at the 7th notch and is even on both sides.

I need more lift. our trucks are too fat so even with the lift it looks short. hah

Bilstein is using my 4Runner for some development and outfitting it with the 6112/5160 combo. Mine has KDSS, and I've been told they're updating their install instructions for KDSS 4Runners. I'll try to post some pictures/info later tonight.

*edit*

Here's the lift at 2.9" front, 1" rear. They're still doing some fitments/measurements and will be putting in prototype springs that will bring the rear up 1.6". I'm planning to get some aftermarket UCAs, but they didn't have any issues with stock UCAs. Wheels: 17" SCS Matte Dark Bronze Stealth 6. Tires: 275/70/17 BFG KO2s.

Based on what I have seen others do with their KDSS setup, I'm planning on installing the 6112s with #6 on passenger side and #5 on drivers. The Bilstein instructions indicate the reverse setup, but that appears to be for non-KDSS versions.

I'm hoping these settings give me the slight rake I am hoping for.

wheelers do charge to assemble the shock/spring & top mount. the price is around 70-100 i think but that includes the top mount as well.

Yes, they charged for this service....$96 assembly and the new top plates, stem cushions and washers.

Saved me time in trying to find/use/return a spring compressor.

That's not bad at all considering it now becomes a bolt in and that's my plan to buy new hats

A few notes from my 6112 / 5160 install:

1) I had to disconnect the tie rods as I didn't mess with the a-arm bolts. If I would have loosened the a-arms, I would probably have had plenty of room.

2) 5160 reservoir mount - my 4Runner didn't have a threaded hole as the instructions noted. I used a 1/4-20 rivet nut insert and was able to make it work.

3) 5160 washer install instructions seem backwards, but I installed per the pics. The curved section of the washer faces away from the rubber bushing instead of "around it" like other shocks I have installed.

4) Alignment: An off-road shop was able to obtain 3.4 caster on both sides, but then they said it pulled to one direction. They then backed the caster to 1.8 on left and 2.5 on right...tracks straight, but seems to be a little heavy on steering. They implied I should obtain new UCA so they can adjust up to 4. I didn't fully understand why they couldn't make it work as they where able to obtain decent caster numbers to begin with.
