6112 / 5160 Combo with T13 springs - suggested setup

After going through the various threads and finally deciding how much of a lift I want, it looks like I am going with the 6112/5160 combo with the T13 springs.

I would like:
  • Remain level, with maybe a slight nose down rake to account for loads
  • Rear lift of around 1" to 1.5"
  • Front lift of about 2"

From what I have been reading, I need to lift about 1" in the front to level it out. If the T13's are only yielding a 1" lift, then I would need to lift the front about 2".

I assume the Wheelers team can help me with this as well as I am going to buy the assembled 6112's to save me some time since I am going to attempt the install myself.

Has anyone else used this configuration for tips?

Went through the same research woes. Some have said the T13 will net a bit more than a 1.5" lift for the rear.

I bought the same set up, and just waiting for a free weekend to install everything.

Just an FYI 5160's are on back order. Tried to order from three different vendors.

I'm looking to purchase in July, so the backlog doesn't hurt me yet....

I have the same goals (2" front, 1.5" rear lift). I'm going with ToyTec Ultimate Coilovers (Bilstein 5100 + ToyTec coil, adjustable 1"-3") for the front and the Wheelers T13 coils with Bilstein 5100 in the rear. Installation happens on Wednesday. I'm not sure what to expect from the T13 as I've read actual lift varies from 1" to 1.75". Ultimately I'm fine with anything between 1" and 1.75" as long as the front is adjusted to match the rear. I'll let you know how it goes.

Looking forward to the install update and pics!
My T13s should arrive sometime tomorrow but I'm sure I won't get around to having time for the install for another month or so. That should give me a little more time to fully figure out what route to go for the front lift.

Did you pull the trigger and install them? What was the result?

So far so good.

Took it out to Cleghorn this past weekend and the dampening was much better than the stock SR5 set up.

Just received my Bilstein 6112 / 5160 shocks, in addition to the Wheelers T13 springs. Wheelers assembled the 6112s for me at the #6 / #5 settings.

Based on what I have seen others do with their KDSS setup, I'm planning on installing the 6112s with #6 on passenger side and #5 on drivers. The Bilstein instructions indicate the reverse setup, but that appears to be for non-KDSS versions.

I'm hoping these settings give me the slight rake I am hoping for.

I'm going to use the same front settings but haven't decided if I want to try the dobinsons 505 rear springs or the T13's. I have both just in case.

Hurry up and install them with theT13s so I know they will work for me :-)

There are a few others with this same setup and it has worked for them.

Everything should be installed by tomorrow evening, hopefully. My concern with the T13's is that they may result in more rake than I would like. I've seen people reporting everywhere from 1" - 2" in lift with them. Also, it seems that many who use the T13's with the 6112's are setting the fronts at full height.

Installed my 6112/5160/T13 spring setup yesterday...took about 6 hours. The 6112's were setup with the 6th clip on the passenger side, and 5th clip on the drivers side.

Looks like the front was lifted about 2 1/2" and the back about 1". That's more on the front and less on the back that I was expecting. Seems to be fine though...still appears to be a slight rake to level.

Measurements from before and after....from fender to ground...centered on rim:

LF 34 1/8 , 36 5/8
RF 34 1/4 , 36 3/4

LR 37 , 38
RR 36 7/16 , 37 1/2

Is it level from the drivers to passenger side with the 5/6 setting?
