Hey Everyone,
I just want to update this thread with some news!
I haven't gone off roading for quite some time now. The weather here in cali just spiked up to triple digits out of no where!
I do have some updates on the truck!
My truck is just about to hit 70k miles! So I decided it was time to do some maintenance. I brought it to my cousins shop called CCAUTOWERKS located in Monrovia california.
My cousin redid my head gasket on my old 2nd gen 4runner and that thing ran like a champ after it was done, so its safe to say he does very awesome and quality work.
I decided it was time for me to freshen up my fluids lol. I did a front diff flush, transmission flush, oil change, and replaced my rear brake pads! I didn't flush out my rear diff because I just changed the fluid, when I put my rear diff breather on, to make sure there was no water in it.
My cousin only uses the best of the best when it comes to liquids. He used mobil 1 synthetic oil, red line diff fluid, and oem toyota transmission fluid. He also used brembo rear brake pads! The truck has always ran like a champ, but now it runs even better than a champ lol. Next up on my maintenance list is water pump, thermostat, and coolant flush. I will do all that at around 85k, so I still have quite some driving to do! For now, here are some picutures!
FYI all these pictures were taken by my cousin!
LIQUIDS!!!
If anyone needs any repairs done to their car, or just regular maintenance, definitely check out my cousins shop, CCautowerks located at 450 W. Duarte rd, Monrovia, CA.
Now onto some MODs
After about a month and a half of waiting I finally got my gobi ladder! I'm so glad I got it! It makes climbing up to my roof much easier, especially since I have my jerry cans up there! Here is a pic of the ladder!
I just ordered my factor55 hook, fairlead, and my rugged ridge synthetic rope winch line!
I decided to go with a rugged ridge synthetic rope instead of a warn due to several reasons. The main reason was price. It is 330 dollars which is the same price as the warn synthetic line, but the rugged ridge that I purchased is rated up to 19,200lbs while the warn is only rated up to 10,000lbs. Now I know some people may think that warn quality is better, and it might be true, but I was thinking about how, if I ever use my snatch block, the warn rope may just snap, while the rugged ridge should be capable to handle such weight, and even if it does snap, I could just tie the rope back together and it should work again.
Also, I have some bad news when it comes to modding my truck. The factor55 hook, fairlead, and synthetic rope, are one of the last things I really wanted for my truck. So the mods are going to be put on a very strict hold for now until indefinite. I still want a wilco rear tire carrier, and some maxtrax, but I feel like, they aren't as important as everything else I bought for the truck. And honestly, I really need to take a break on the modding lol. I've only owned the truck for about 8months, and I have done so much to it already.
On a side note, I don't plan to stop off roading, so I will still update this thread with all my off road adventures, so feel free to still follow this thread lol
