On the low profile bumpers it’s mostly just an aesthetic touch. When I go out wheeling I mount my hi-lift jack on it and I suppose you could use it to mount driving lights, but that’s about it. It isn’t rated for recovery.

You can throw a couple coils of your winch line around it rather than realing it all the way in if you are using it frequently.

I went with C4 for a few reasons.
1. The shackle mounts are inline with where it bolts into the frame, and inline with the winch opening
2. The cross bar has gussets for reinforcement = more strength

I have a 12k Smittybuilt winch in mine. Haven't had 1 issue yet with the bumper.

I hope you got a little help.

I found keeping the whole front plastic piece off helped.

Also I cut a small portion of the down "L" bracket in front of the radiator and folded flat so it wouldn't hit the cross bars on the winch.
Relocated my control box to the side. (this also allows for better access to the power switch.)

I ordered a SSO during the black Friday deal. Manly for the future ability to do the stage 2 bumper. Yesterday I ordered a Heise light bar and X20 10K winch for it. The update I got from SSO yesterday makes me think im still 2-3 weeks from getting it. This thread had me regretting the decision to go SSO, but I saw one in person today and the fit was much better looking in person.

Yeah dude, SSO got killed on Black Friday and didn't have enough stock in production to keep up with demand. I ordered the stage 2 the day the sale hit and I should be getting those parts Monday. When I ordered my Slimline during a group by with Tso, everything came in between 4 to 6 weeks. Guess they underestimated the demand for their products.

You won't be disappointed, I had my truck Daisy chained between a 4Runner stuck in two and a half feet of water and another guy winching off of one of my shackle mounts. The welds held without issue and we all got out. No deformation of the steel, everything handled as expected.

Is it possible to get a measurement on on how far the SSO and C4 bumpers stick out ==> compared to the stock plastic shroud?

I have an awesome wife that parks the 4Runner at an angle in a parking garage by feel and loves to bump the edge of the front bumper where's there's paint. Luckily I have a full paint protection film on the front bumper that took the majority of the damage but I'm deciding on one of these bumpers right now and the one that sticks OUT the furthest will win.

I would be interested in these measurements also. Trying to decide between SSO and C4.

Thank you.

Here are measurements for the SSO slimline. My apologies that a couple of the images are fuzzy, my butt was getting cold sitting on the concrete.

plastic fascia -> tip of recovery points 4"

radiator core support to bottom of bumper - 7"

radiator core support to bottom of license plate frame - 13"

ADMIN NOTE: I remove the license plate when wheeling.

bottom of plastic fascia to bottom of bumper - 1.5"

Please note that this is for an SSO slimline hybrid purchased in 2018. If they have revised the design the dimensions may be different.

Thank you!

What license plate mount is that. The ones that I have seen do not fit the factor hook.

Nice setup!

The Cascadia mounts come with a spacer that fits over a Factor 55 Flatlink.
