Thumbs up Stikky's 2017 SR5 Premium T4R Build

When I first got it:

Currently:

Hey All, I purchased a 2017 Toyota 4Runner SR5 Premium of 4/29/2017. It's my second 4Runner, My daily driver is my 1999 Toyota 4Runner SR5. Currently, My old 4Runner has 285k miles on it, and still running strong.

I'm building a 4Runner mainly for Photography, finding awesome spots through out the west coast, going and shooting photos.. That's the plan, at least it is right now. Don't have any intentions of drilling holes, unless absolutely necessary. I'll be posting photos over time, of potentially everything on these lists.

Communications & Navigation:
1. Navigation & Maps App : Gaia GPS

Onboard Equipment:
4. Trunk Organization Tote (Bungee'd down) - ( Jump to Post )
10. Onyx 4Runner Bottle Opener Keychain (here)
11. ARB Tire Deflator
4:5. 128GIG Ultra Slim Stationary USB Flash Drive for Music & Audio Books ( this one )

Done to the 4Runner:
1. Tinted Windows - Llumar 15% All the way around, got the Metallized Window Tint. Chose to go with the metalized tint because i'll be driving this car probably forever.. and I don't want to deal with retinting after dyed tint turns purple. I also got Lifetime Warranty on peeling, bubbling, fading, and what they call full ticket protection (I get a ticket, they remove tint, get ticket written off, go back and they will retint it for me for free.
2. Glove Box Organizer - ( Jump to Post )
3. Center Console Shelf Organizer - ( Jump to Post )
5. Blacked out Emblems ( Jump To Post )
6. Debadged ( Jump to Post )
6. Center Console Tissue Box, THAT FITS PERFECT. - ( Jump to Post )
7. Matte Black TRD Rims Got them for $181.50/ea ( Link to TRD Rims / Jump To Post )
8. BF Goodrich AT KO2 275/70/17
8. Reverse Camera Mod ( Link to Sakers Post on this / Link to Button Saker Recommended )
111. ICON Shift Knob & Custom Startup Screen (Jump to Post)
10. Thule XT Motion Roof Top Cargo
11. Custom Fitted Windshield Shade
12. Added 2016 Toyota 4Runner Trail Edition Running Boards

In Process:
1. Having Stage 2 Icon Suspension Installed (This Kit)
2. Will be Adding Amber Front Markers (here)

Future Potential Plans:
1. ARB Compressor | This Compressor & MTN4RNR's Install Method Install
3. Awning
5. Roof Rack
6. Roof Top Tent
6. Replace License Plate & Interior Lights with LED
7. Yellow LED Fog Lights
8. Go to dealer and have them reprogram roll down windows
9. Going to Copy MTN4RNR with Rear Hatch Red & White (Here) \ Red LED or Maybe Green \ White LED
19. Until Roof Top Tent Bed
1. Spidertraxx 1.25" Spacers

Just another rookie making plans over here. Stand by for photos.

Would you like to see some of the photos I take on these adventures?

We have similar plans! I got my 2016 TE for the purpose of getting me to great photography spots too. There's such an incredible wealth of knockout scenery in the Western U.S. that few people ever see because they don't venture off the paved tourist roads.

My mission is to find those remote but beautiful locations, and record images of them while they're still pristine and relatively unknown. Now I have my T4R to get me there (most of the way, anyway!).

You're off to a great start with that lively image of your 4R. I like the reflections.

For future 295/70/17 tires and wheel spacers you most definitely need to do a lift and possibly inner fender trimming. GL

Here is the glove box organizer, center console organizer, and the trunk tote that I pieced together.

Center Console Organizer : here
** $20 When i bought it, might be pricey, but hey, go find another one that fits perfectly for cheaper.

Glove Box Organizer : http://amzn.to/2pHNc1W
** $20 When i bought it, might be pricey, but hey, go find another one that fits perfectly for cheaper.

Trunk Tote that I rigged together, is a black tote with two bungee cords through the tote.

Here is the tote: http://amzn.to/2qEnwbt
** I don't recommend buying it from here, that's expensive... I got mine from my local Costco for $10 I believe it was.

Here are the bungee cords that I bought: http://amzn.to/2rdBGNX
** I got them from Home Depot for the same price I believe.

I'm a bit of a neat freak, so i'll probably post more organization stuff. I use the tote is the back to hold my stuff so it does not bounce/roll around... & when I get somewhere, I can easily unstrap it, and completely take it out.. The lid is the base it is on top of. Just dont pay $60 for that damn tote.

Started with watching tutorials on how to do this, and this is the video I keep referring back to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FV_ULUKno5w

Grill emblem, removed a few pieces under the hood, popped the emblem out from the back. Started to spray it while it was on the table after I washed it down.

First Emblem done, It came out ok, but honestly, i'll be peeling it all off in the morning and doing it over. It came out with texture on it, and that's a no go for me. I'll be taking swings at this embled until it's done right, then i'mm move onto the others till i get better at spraying.

So, i'm all done with blacking out the emblems, and i'm pretty happy with it.

Tips if you want to do it:

1. Use this specific brand of plasty dip, I tried the rust oleum and it was garbage. I got it at Home Depot for $8 a can.

Plasty Dip: http://amzn.to/2qE8Rx4

2. A guy at the tint shop recommend that if I do it myself, to put the can of plasty dip in hot water, to rise the viscosity. I didn't do it for the first few trys, and then I did.. and it really does help.

3. Shake the can, honestly shake it for at least a minute before you start to spray each time..

4. Let it dry for about 15 minutes in between coats.

5. Keep the can 6" away while spraying, it's not typical paint.

Good question, sorry I didn't address this is my main post.. Going to have them turn off the seat belt notifications, and From what I understand there is a way to roll down all windows if you hold the unlock button long enough.

check out the PDF

You tempted the neat freak in me as well and I just placed an order for the center console and glove box organizers (Amazon is currently running a 20% off when bundled together promotion)!
