well when the root cause is either:

1. everyone with recent builds has geometry issues that road force balancing isnt solving

or

2. everyone has the same shitty oem tires that are causing the problem, meaning toyota must have received a bad batch from the manufacturer

I think its pretty safe to say its option two. Either get the dealer to replace or take it up with manufacturer using warranty. Or you can save yourself the headache and just buy some decent tires. For those who will whine about this recommendation:

My 4th gen had this issue and my 5th. No one has mentioned tire pressure yet. I run 40 - 42 PSI for on road use and it eliminates 99% of the shake. I think when I picked up both my 4th and 5th they were at 32 PSI, insanely low for a truck IMHO.

I'm thinking the root cause is something else. People have reported changing both wheels and tires and still having the same issue. The dealership tech that worked on my truck last time said 4runners are notorious for this problem. Didn't Lexus have a recall for the GX for a similar problem where they replaced some spring in the steering rack?

According to the dealership tech they have looked through the entire suspension and found nothing wrong. I assume that includes the CV axles but who knows what they did or didn't check.

I can safely make a few assumptions about you... you are single and have no kids. Money is not an issue for you because you still live rent free with your parents. So most of your money goes to Mods and chaturbate. ANd you wait in line for hours at iphone release.

Back on topic. Some of us have OEM setups meaning no mods meaning no geometric changes from OEM.

I'll agree that OEM bridgestones arent the best but simply say "give up and fork out the money" is idiocy on your part.

So just stay out of this thread and let the few of us find a solution.

your assumptions are incorrect.

ETA: sounds like you need to go be poor somewhere else.

My experience was that it did not matter at which PSI the tires were set to. I tried 38PSI on OEM size and i tried 32 on OEM size.

Attack the post, never the poster. This is your warning.

Now, taking my mod hat off... did any of you new guys ever think to search this topic and see if it happened before? What was done about it? No?
Well, here's a poll with some thoughts Steering wheel vibration Poll (16 pages of reading goodness) and as you can see not everyone has it (only about half) and there are things you can do to fix it. Never assume guys.

Just a general search for "toyota steering shake" and you'll find that a few from tundra, tacoma and FJ forums are reporting the same issue. Good luck my friend.

we tried it the balance, rotation, yadi yadi but were too POOR to buy new tires.
HE started it. He called us poor. I am offended by it. Plus you called me incompetent because i did not present numbers as to why the 4runner was a premium SUV.

According to the poll, 9 of 521 votes show that replacing tires fixed their shaking problem. So that's obviously not the solution.

Lol. I usually don't have to call people names. That's a sure sign of a lost argument. You read all 16 pages right?
