FWIW, I have 255/75/17s on a Wrangler Rubicon. I have no complaints. Light to moderate off roading, no issues in rain or snow.
08 rubicon takeoffs in 255/75/17 were my first introduction to the size and I loved the heck out of them, (offroad performance vs size, fuel economy, and weight). I will probably use them when my current 285's wear out. Interestingly enough my 285's I'm currently running also came off a Rubicon,2019. Bought all five wheels and tires for 500 bux from a buddy so I don't regret going with them but when I pay full price it will prolly be 255's.

Yes. At least with the KO2’s. BTW, we are very happy with the 255/75/17 choice.
Only 1000 miles on these so far, and almost all on road / towing. I actually think these look pretty good without a lift.

We now have about 17,000 miles on these including beach sand, clay, gravel etc. (No snow). we Air Down to about 15PSI off-road with no issues on 7.5 inch rims. Performance has been perfect. Still look new, rotated 3X so far. When the time comes, we will get the 255’s again.
