Long/Misleading Lead Times on GOBI racks.

Just a heads up guys.

Gobi says it'll be 8-12 weeks on racks. Im on my 14th week and my rack still hasn't shipped.

Their products are great but communication is no bueno with them.

Just a heads up.

No shit! This is standard operating procedure for them. For some reason they feel the need to flat out lie about shipping times. I don't get it. I was more than willing to wait but was continually told my rack had shipped when they knew damn well it hadn't. Frustrating and well documented on this forum.

Too each his own but never understood the draw on steel racks that have the potential to rust if not properly maintained.

No doubt, they look great though...

Any other suggestions? Not opposed to a different material, just couldn't find anything that looks as good and seems as sturdy. Im in Houston, TX so not too stoked about the beating it'll take from constant high humidity... we spend a lot of time at the beach as well. (Salt Air)

Yea I've seen it mentioned a bit but didn't see a specific thread on it.

Im super patient and not much of one to talk negative about anyone or a brand but it's not ok for them to operate this way especially when their marketing has to be next to nothing with all the publicity they get on this thread.

Did you cancel your order or wait it out?

I'm biased towards aluminum and not drilling holes is a big plus too

Personally, I went with the Eezi-Awn K9 , however some smart Gentleman started a consolidated thread on roof racks recent that highlights what's out there. 5th Gen forum is in cowboy mode right now but it's out there somewhere

If I wanted a heavy duty rack - I'd make my own.

Good luck, people are still lining up to buy it in spite of the lead times: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/group-...er-2016-a.html

When it comes time to get a roof rack based on all the BS that Gobi pulls I do not any their product. However it's the only product that I love 100%. They needs to just sell to another company that can actually make a product amd have some built for stock and two not lie to people.

I think I was 16 weeks, but their customer service was amazing on the back end, but horrible on the front end, which I don't get. They gave me about 500 worth of extra stuff. I then had a minor issue and it was dealt with immediately.. Just think if they DID have superior delivery times.. Great product though.. Looks awesome to..

Do they make you pay full amount up front and then take that long? Or do they charge you when it ships?
