RCI bolt on slider help (frame thread pitch?)

***** Edited *****

I received the correct m8x1.25 bolts from RCI. The frame threads just needed to be cleaned up better.

Didn't have any issues with mine and I didn't even clean the threads out.

Did your bolts look the same? I might stop by the hardware store and verify thread pitch on mine.

Sometimes holes in the frame, especially in salted road areas, need to be chased by a tap before installing.

Bolts look the same as what I had.

No instructions needed. Line up and go. Took me and my girlfriend a few hours, with no jack stands, one socket wrench, and one standard wrench.

Only tricky part was getting the passenger side under the hydraulic lines.

I'd find one of the holes that aren't used, and actually crank on a bolt. See what happens. I bet it's just gunked up with road shit.

The threaded frame holes are M8x1.25. The RCI bolts will work, will take a little muscle to get the first few threads at first.

Thanks for the replies. Sorry about the false alarm. I verified the thread pitch on my bolts is indeed M8x1.25. Turns out a few shots of brake clean didn't clean out the holes as well as I thought. They were still quite gunked up. I'm in central TX, so no road salt, but I guess a few years of road grime. Is this tap ok to use to clean or do I need to get a chaser tool? Also, did y'all remove the plastic frame caps or leave them in?

Yes, that M8x1.25 tap is fine, and Yes, remove the plastic frame caps.

Yes remove plastic caps. Also when installing I used some anti-seize so that the bolts don't lock up in case you have to remove for one reason or another. Did the same for my skids and makes it 10x easier to get the bolts in and out.
