4Runner TRD Off-Road Premium vs. TRD Pro
Is there that much difference between the two aside from the suspension components? I'm trying to locate a Barcelona Red TRD Pro here in Texas and it's a *****. Closest one is in Houston, 4 1/2 hrs away. One of the sales guys said it might be easier finding a Off Road Premium. Do most of you guys have the Premium or Pro? ugh, this has been a PITA, lol.

I have a premium because I wanted a moonroof. Purchased the pro wheels for $726, skid plate for $255 and valances and upper grill and grill insert for $898 shipped. If I wanted Pro oem suspension it's approximately another $1,500 plus install. Tires, should be around 650-750 depending on where you get them and brand.
If I add up the cost from my price paid, I'll have 42,759 before suspension labor and I'll have a sunroof. You can always go with cheaper aftermarket suspension as well. Overall you'll spend less or approximately the same as pro msrp, but likely have more add ons plus have the option of sunroof and kdss. Interior wise they are identical except floormat badging.

How important are those suspension components, wheels, etc. to you?

I like the black wheels. I'm coming from having a Mustang & then 2 BMW's, so it's my first venture into the 4Runner game. Primarily was looking to have something that can get me in/out of muddy crap at the gun range. But it'd also be neat to be able to do some level of off roading, and I'm guessing the upgraded suspension would help. I'm just not real sure what advantage/disadvantage of the KDSS is.

When I try and configure a Off Road Premium with KDSS, sliding rear cargo deck and Barcelona Red, it's not available. Only in white. So aggravating. lol.

Red is a pain to find. I originally wanted a premium, but nobody had them in Red, and the dealers that did wouldn't trade my dealer for it, or they weren't interested in coming down on their price.
I found a Red Pro in LA and was able to knock them down 7K from what they were asking so I bought it (though I still overpaid).
I reached out to somewhere in the Baylor areas of Texas. I forget what the area is called. They had a red one at the time, but who knows if it's still there.

I went with the Premium because of the sun roof as well. Plus, I knew I was going to change the suspension so there was no point in buying a TRD Pro only to take off the stuff I paid for. The only real difference was the front end grill components but I wanted the blue and that was not available in the Pro. Looking at the cement color that's out now, I like it, but honestly I think I got the better end of the deal buying what I wanted and adding/modifying it later.

Yeah. One in Houston had it on the lot yesterday and it was gone today. Big problem is that they don't even have pricing for the '18's yet so I can't even order one, what a crock.

The original dealer I dealt with said they're still making them. Unless you don't want to wait, might want to ask your dealer to request one specifically for them. I was told it'd take about 3 months, which is why I drove to LA and got the Pro.

Sunroofs leak - they all do eventually. If you want to get in to a truck that has a wet seat after a rainstorm, get a truck with a sunroof.
Don't let anyone tell you different!
Go with the TRD Pro - simple is better - plus they have a cool grill and red coils on the front shocks!!

Yeah, between a few dealerships I think they're all admitting now that they can't order '17's anymore, but don't have the pricing yet for the '18's. It's beyond ridiculous.

My 2000 4Runner had a sunroof. Sold it in 2008 with about 150k miles on it. Sunroof never leaked. Bought a 2008 4Runner. Sunroof never leaked. Gave it to my dad about 8 months ago. Sunroof still doesn't leak. Don't be afraid of the sunroof. They're awesome.

The only time a sunroof leaks is if the drains get clogged from sitting under tree's, etc. My 2000 Camry had that happen, and I had to unclog the hose and haven't had an issue since.
