I spoke with BPF and based on the measurements he gave me it should fit so I bit the bullet and bought the skids just haven't had time to install them. I will report back on the outcome.

Here's how my King Shaft Guards looked after 1 run. The other side didnt break but was quite loose. Keep in mind, i made sure they were secure and free from contact with anything around it.
I would replace it if it wasn't so expensive. Looking to get the BPF's but wished they had slightly more coverage.

Have you reached out to them to see if they can extend the guard higher up? I'd definitely be down for a set if they could.

Yes they have no plans in a new version any time soon. I thought about modifying it by making a plastic shield and taping it to the BPF shield using something like this for material.

Well that’s less than optimal. I’ll reach out to Rago to see if they would be willing to modify their existing design.

Shaft or Knuckle
Not the title to a terrible 70's porn.
You're going to need both, as there's not a product that cover both the knuckle and the shaft. My solution was a set of BPF protectors coupled with the following:
Boots!
couple seconds with a pair of scissors to cut out a quarter inch section down the middle so the back is just slightly open (let's mud n water out), couple snips here 'n there to cover the knuckle, couple of zip ties (tight around the shock, loose mid and low) and you're covered, both flexible and solid... which can be said about a lot of things in life... but seriously.. shock boots!

Well Rago is a no-go. They won’t modify their current design. When I get some time I reach out to some more fabricating places to see if a design can be worked out.
I wonder if I could convince RCI to fab something since they are local and already have offerings for the 4Runner.

Shock Boots
I have been more than completely pleased with the simple fix of shock boots to protect the shaft. Slice down the back to let it breath so mud and water doesn’t collect and it is good to go.

See if a local welder can sand down the powder coat and weld on a small extension?
