To wait or not to wait ?!?! That is the question.
So I am ready to get a new front bumper from Shrockworks and I was sad when they told me that I have to wait 3 months before they ship it out WHY WHY WHY ! I am glad for them they have plenty of work so that must be good for their rep and quality work.
BUT BUT BUT !!!!! 3 months FML.... My buddy said wait, my wife said wait, so I just needed to vent my sadnessss. I will most likely put the order Monday morning and come to this thread to sob. hehe

They're notorious for their lead times but there are plenty of other options for front bumpers.
That said, I should put my order in for that Shrockworks rear bumper I want...

Most of these mods (bumpers, sliders, racks, skids, etc) seem to be made to order, and the manufacturers can get pretty backed up sometimes which makes it take even longer.

I feel ya. After many false starts I recently pulled the trigger on a Gobi rack and I hear the wait is 3~6 months.

Since you have to wait anyway, why not wait for the next group buy??? Unless you don't like money...

+1, or wait for Black Friday. I mean you live in Montreal and you wouldn't get it till winter either way.

Just be prepared to wait and wait some more. And then when you think you've waited long enough, wait some more. I ordered my sliders BEFORE the last group buy and didn't receive them until AFTER the group buy folks started receiving their orders. How about that? I paid full price and waited longer!

I waited 3 months for my Shrockworks front bumper, 4 months for my SSO Rear Bumper, and 20 months for my Drabbits Roof rack (long story). Just buy it and forget that you ordered it. It will feel like Christmas when it comes in.

Or...
Instead of using a brand name product remember that most of this is just fabricated metal and there are local fab shops with people who LOVE the challenge of creating things...even matching an identical product that is brand name... and if approached will be able to match the quality and crush the timeline... and most likely take on the price for a fraction as they will do it either on the clock at their professional shop, or on the side, at the same professional shop.
Yes, there are considerations for having the reputation of that brand name and liability thoughts etc. etc. etc. BUT, since most of us won't drag the full length of our sliders one single time or center point the rig on a MOAB boulder from 15' or be required to push an M1 Abrams sideways through the HESCO barriers at Fallujah... exactly what grade of equipment are we expecting and/or needing.
Personally, I caught the recent SSO front bumper group buy so I get the look I want and the price is super close to the local fab work but my roof rack is a GOBI "style" because I love that look, but I will get it at 6 weeks from ordering and 75% cost. I am still designing my sliders, but will be at about the same cost as N-Fab Steps to get true sliders.
I agree with the comments, wait for a group buy or wait for the wait at full price but I am finding that part of MY 4Runner ownership adventure is scouting out the best price/value/time combination so the end result will be MY 4Runner so I am just offering a third option...YMMV
