Sounds like there is a market for a 2" or 2.5" extended travel 400 or 500# spring... I'd press buy in a heartbeat. Need a long travel spring for KDSS rigs that use the above spacers and don't have 600+ pounds loaded all the time.

The length of the GS59-701 shocks is the maximum droop travel that the KDSS system can handle. The rear sway bar can contact the panhard rod at full droop. It's the same with the stock height spring up to 2.5", so an extended travel spring wouldn't help anything in this situation. It's limited in travel by the shocks.

Is it just harsh ride? Or can damage be done?
It would give too much lift. That's why there's 4 different springs set to 3" WITH the listed amount of accessory weight on there. If you run a spring that is designed for a lot of weight, and you don't have that weight, the spring won't sit at the correct ride height, and also won't perform properly because it doesn't have the correct amount of weight on it.

You need to use your daily constant accessory weight to determine what springs to choose. Too much spring isn't a good idea.

There is a few of us KDSS rigs with 600+ extra lbs extra in the rear (Bumper, drawers, roof top tent, gear etc) running extended travel shocks and 749 rear springs. The trick is to run the blackgate customs KDSS spacers on the rear. These fix that problem, and also keep the KDSS piston from contacting the Panhard bar. There is no issues with KDSS lean, nor issues flexing. Does very well. Also coming out soon is a switch to be able to put the KDSS system in limp mode (disabled) on command. Myself and one other are testing the stich out and so far has very favorable results. Stay Tuned

KDSS spacer on the front? I'm not aware there is a spacer for the front yet. Both the website and the thread here indicates it's for the rear unless you are running an as of yet unreleased front spacer

My mistake. I meant for the rear only. There is another company that is advertising one for the front, but only does one side. They claim it fixes the lean, but i haven't seen any issues yet for the lean with just the rear blackgate model.

I installed the Dobinson LT shocks last night with Durobumps on Superflex HDs. Took out some jimmyrigged Procomps for a Tacoma that gave me the travel. Lost 1/4 to 1/2" it appears that the new shocks are not soaking up but its not settled yet. Had 3.6" lift with the HDs. Seems ride is nice but will take out this weekend and test more extensively. Need to change the brake lines.

I was saying I'm looking for a spring for those of us that don't run an extra 600lbs in back all the time. I'm aware all that exists but no point in getting the spacer if I can't find LT springs that work with less weight in the back. If you know of any please inform me. Then I can get extended rear shocks and the blackgate spacer.

I've finally decided on a Dobison IMS lift after months of racking my brain, I just have a few questions regarding the best set up for my Runner.
im currently stock v8.

in the near future have a single drawer system. 150+ I'm assuming loaded.
will have a subwoofer as well.

I would like a 3" lift and maintain factory rake.

front spring
C59-314

strut
IMS

Rear spring
C59-675v
strut
IMS long travel

will I need spacers for driver side lean? or will I first have to see if it will lean in the first place.i don't mixed it being stiffer but don't want anything jarring either.

Hey bud,

That setup would get you at 3" front and rear, so that's what I'd suggest. It's the softest setup you can get too.

A rear spacer would be recommended. The front can be adjusted by the coil seat height if necessary.

There are hundreds if not thousands of guys on this forum running the Dobinsons long travel rear coils. C'mon guys, I know you have more photos to share of your rigs all flexed out. Post them up, along with what shocks and other gear you're running!!

Hoping to get some additional feedback from people running the 675's on the rear. Anyone running 75-100 pounds over stock with the 675's? (i.e over sized spare tire, recovery gear and tool bags etc.)

Really wanting to stick around 2" of rear lift but want the progressive coils.
