FYI Southern Style OffRoad deals

They have some discount deals on the website including free shipping on their sliders. $499 delivered.

Sliders are awesome! super well built and attention to detail is great. Also, SSO is very good to work with. I'd expect this sale to lengthen their lead time significantly because they are going to get really a ton of orders.

Ah crap... I'm having a hard time deciding between these and the Dimpled Tred Plate Shrockworks sliders. Price will be pretty similar between the two with the group but that's going on now.

I want a slider that can be used as a step as well.

One negative to the sso is I'd still need to paint them.

Any opinions between the two?

That rear bump out makes a handy step for access to the roof. I have a set of Shrockworks and they have held up very well for going on 3 years now. I want a set of the SSO's because I like the look, SSO has already got a great rep from their Slimline Hybrid bumpers (I have one of the first), And they are a great company to deal with.

The no paint option has a little history. The largest complaint they have received over the years is the powder coat being scratched up on delivery. Unfortunately most of that is out of their hands and in the shippers. So they decided to stop offering any coating. I had the same problem with my CBI bumper on delivery last year. CBI had obviously made a large effort to protect all the corners and protruding parts but the shipper still managed to ding up several spots. I simply fixed it with touchup paint at home instead of fighting with the shipper about it. If you're in or near a large metropolitan area you should have no problem finding a powder coating company nearby. You might even look and get an estimate before you drop the dime. Just my 2 cents.

To add to this, SSO will still powder your sliders if you request. You will just not get any type of warranty for damage that occurs through shipping.

Thanks for the info!

To add one more contender to this... I just saw the Hefty Fabworks slider, and while more expensive than the others, I can drive down to their shop and pick them up on the spot. Thus avoiding any potential shipping issues.

The HF sliders have the bump out too.

Cost wise:
SSO(unpainted) = 500 + ~100 for powder coat locally + Free ship = 600
SW (Painted) = 615-15% GB + 90 shipping = ~615
HF (Painted) = 640 + Free Local Pickup = 640

Choices are hard.
