Well i got my email from magnuson. I wont be getting a supercharger so you guys will have one less person to compete with to get a discounted setup. While i would love to, unless one of you guys want to pay for it, its just too rich for my blood lol.

For what is a beta/public stress test I figured the discount would be higher since there is an implied risk (otherwise these would be shipping en mass). I still applied since you miss 100 percent of the shots you don't take.

Thanks. I feel that's reasonable but, like you, I expected a deeper discount to "test" it.

Certainly not unreasonable but that's less than a dealer markup. And I worry there's no safety net/contract that says if it blows up your engine they'll replace it as part of the pilot program. So there's a lot of risk for not a lot of discount.
Again I'll reserve judgement for now since I'm not selected yet so it's moot for now.

I would have figured that the retail price would be 5 to 6000. So a test pilot program would be usually about 50 to 70% cost. So that would be between 2500 to 4000. At 5000 id spend the money to supercharge my tundra where i will use the power more.
Since its 5000 and double what i can afford, i dont see a point in taking up a spot from someone who can afford it.

True dat. I won't be in a position to throw $5k+ at a WANT for awhile so hopefully by that time all the bugs will be worked out and there will be plenty of real world reviews.

I feel that $5k plus shipping for a company to use my $40k 4runner as a TEST vehicle is crazy. What's the MSRP?

They said 5500 at FJ Summit.
Again I'm glad this isn't totally vaporware anymore but as a beta test this is a tough sell st that price. Because when you factor in install time and the time to get it dynod like the application implies that's not really doing the end user many favors.
And it sounds like it's competitive to get in. Kinda odd.
