Those with aftermarket bumpers

Did you trim and keep your splash guards/fender liners or toss them out? Mine were discarded when my bumper was put on, and I didn't realize the intake tube is in the passenger fender. I'm worried about driving through big puddles, looded streets, or water crossings, and getting water in the intake.

Does it have to be completely submerged to risk locking up the motor or is any amount of water getting in there going to be bad? I know he fender liner isn't going to keep all water out, but at least it will stop the splash from puddles/flooded streets.

I would look for a replacement for both sides, or see if whoever installed them still has them.

I had to rip out the driver side liner on a trail run and then the next run had a lot of mud - I have mud everywhere that mud shouldn't be. The passenger side is still intact, i have a snorkel now so not a big deal, but I would be concerned if you went and did some splashing around, there is still a lot of volume to fill up in the air intake before it could get to your engine. Also a drain in the air box. But I'd error on the side of safety.

If I was still running stock intake I would absolutely replace the liners - with snorkel I run without.

Yeah they are gone. I'm not too worried about the drivers side, as there really isn't anything in there except the beeper for the door unlock/lock.

I was thinking the same thing. I was planning on doing a snorkel, but they are way too big for my liking, and I really don't plan on doing any major water crossings to warrant it.

looks like I'll be ordering a new one and some clips.

I trimmed the liners to fit on both of mine. On the passenger side, I heated and remolded the liner to fit around the windshield washer reservoir. I wouldn't want to run around without the liners even with a snorkel.
