Let us know when you get the 6112/5160's installed. Ide be curious your opinion of them vs the 5100's.

I am excited, but Wheelers has yet to get them in stock. I had called a few weeks ago for an update and still none in stock. Right now I am happy with the 5100's w/ T1 & T13 springs for now.

I did call and place an order with Gobi for a stealth rack. I hate long wait times. My choices are be impatient and get a Full Front Runner. Be a little patient and get a full Prinsu, or just forget about my Gobi order and be surprised whenever it gets here.

Here is a couple of pictures from this past weekend. Went to AOP with my local Toyota friends ( Josh, Thomas, and Bryan ) and a bunch of guys from TacomaWorld.

New F5s are all scratched up now. Oh well.

Here are the 4 of us and then a cool guy to the far left we met.

These guys got a bit too rowdy at the track.

@dot_tom

How do the T1 Coils feel on road? I've got T13s for the rear and 5100s going on all around, but I was planning on staying with the stock coils and set the 5100s at 2.5". Just wondering how the T1s feel as I'll be on pavement most of the time. I haven't put anything on yet, so spending another $160 for front coils wouldn't be a big deal. Let me know what you think of the T1/T13 and 5100 set up so far (I know you are upgrading, but I believe that is probably to get more capable off road).

Thanks, and love the pics!

T1s are great on road. The ride is a lot better than a preloaded factory spring. My 3rd Gen Taco has preloaded stock springs and 5100s to obtain 2.5" and the ride is a lot sharper. When hitting potholes and cracks in the road, the T1's perform much better IMO. The $160 is money well spent on these.

I was going to upgrade to the 6112 setup but never got my call back from Wheelers. I have a pending order out in no mans land, I guess. I ended up running a small spacer on the top hat to obtain 3" front lift and keep a nice ride.

Thank you for the quick reply man! Your feedback is exactly what someone else had suggested to me today when I told them what I was planning on doing. I appreciate the feedback!

Dang! Was your group able to winch them back onto the wheels and out of the mud? And was the truck able to continue on?

Yes, he was winched back on all 4. The truck almost made it home before the engine gave out. Sucked in some water, unfortunately.

I was in Knoxville this week for work. Had to snag a picture at lunch downtown.

Dot_Tom's '17 TRD OR Project

To wrap up 2017 Brooke and I went up to one of our favorite nearby camp spots in Blue Ridge. With all the crazy holiday and work stuff going on it was nice to fit one more night of camping in. It got down to the mid 20's. We stayed warm but I will be adjusting our cold weather kit for next time.

Great sunrise on our way up to Cataloochee to snowboard.

Awesome view from the top.

That's a wrap for 2017. Looking forward to 2018 adventures. Next mod up is a cargo drawer system!

I might of missed it but what bar setup were you running with the roof top tent before the gobi rack?

I was running the Yakima Railgrab kit. It has been discontinued and replaced by either using the Yakima Flusbar tower or the Timberline tower. Either one would work great if you wanted to mount your RTT to your 4Runner. For the price of the Yakima bars new, I would buy a Prinsu rack. Their shortest rack would be about the same price and give you more options to mount other items like an Awning.

PS - If you go Yakima, search eBay. You can find a decent deal. Or search the internet for dead stock on the Railgrab kit. I think mine was ~$185 shipped new from Campsaver.com?

New Prinsu full length. Not sure how I feel about it. Does much better on MPG than the Gobi. Good for about 3mpg highway. I think the Gobi looks better and what’s a bit more gas, right?
