5th Gen Limited w/XREAS - Level?

Hi all, I am somewhat still new to this forum and I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me any advice or help me out. I have been scouring this website looking for any information about adding in a leveling kit to the XREAS suspension. Every form I have seen on here, everyone just says "remove XREAS, you won't regret it" and never says if it is possible to add in a leveling kit or not.

I have purchased a Toytec "FJ3-RSP - 2.5" lift / leveling kit for FJ & 4Runner- Works with XREAS" and my mechanic said the rear 1.5" spacer would work, and when he went to put in the front 2.5" spacer, he said it was way too tight and it would ruin my shocks and seals and all that good stuff. Has anyone had any experience with this, or put it on their own 5th Gen with XREAS and had positive results? Any help would be great, or a point to a thread with this information would be awesome.

Currently I have a stock suspension and have replaced the 20" OEM wheels to 17" FN FX Pro wheels with 275/70r17 BF Goodrich KO2's. I have rubbing at full lock, and I intent to do the fender liner mod until I can figure out this leveling kit thing. Thanks guys!

I have the same setup as yours. Fronts struts took a little more compression but it's doable. The rears ride a little harsh. I have the same tires and wheels and do not have any rubbing after the spacer install.

Did you go with the 2.5 in the front and the 1.5 in the back? I am nervous to go against what my mechanic said. When I called toytec they said this part was specifically made for the XREAS, and wouldn't have any problems. Thank you for getting back to me!

There are quite a number of people here who've installed the Daystar 2.5/1.5 lift and level kit on the Limited. I'll be one of those people as soon as I have time for the install. The Toytec lift is the same. Seems like your mechanic is being excessively careful, or just isn't comfortable with XREAS.

Those thinking about a Daystar lift with XREAS - My thoughts and install experience

Yes, exact same setup.

I installed it myself. The fronts took a lot more effort. You have take make room for the spacer, top cap and have enough room to screw the nut back on the strut. I should have lifted all 4 wheels in order to relieve some pressure on the struts.

Did the Daystar on my 15 limited, no issue, it is a tight fit, but it does work.

Just got my 2018 4Runner Limited with XREAS. Planning to level with Toytec 2” lift spacers for the front to keep my XREAS intact. Not looking for additional lift but just want to get rid of the stock “nose down” look. You all think the Toytec 2” spacers would be good enough?

Looks like I’m about a year behind, but I received a quote yesterday from our local shop to do the same lift (daystar instead) - $1,003.

Seems a bit much so I began reaching out to friends for assistance. We’re planning a group build together soon.

Good grief! I had my local shop install my toytec kit. That plus the alignment was less than $400! Hope you got it done. My 15 LE looks so much better with a little lift and bigger tires! Plus the front is level w the back.

I got mine installed at a shop as well and cost around $500 with an alignment. I Personally I think the lift is perfect.

Looks nice - I love the look and hope to get my Limited like this. So you went with a 2" front only?

It is actually the 2.5" front and 1.5" rear leveling kit.

Out of curiosity how similar to factory is the ride quality for you guys going 2.5/1.5? I have a 1" cornfed spacer right now and can't tell the difference at all in ride quality, but not sure how a rear coil spacer would behave. tia
