With the stock pan hard and LT set-up with the KDSS, the piston and panhard make contact and stop any additional down travel. By adding the Sonoran Steel pan hard, it appears to alleviate this condition, as that is where one of the offsets are located. The other issue with LT and KDSS is the KDSS system and components will only allow for so much down travel, part of which is burned up by lifting the vehicle. The piston only has so much travel, so when it is maxed, that is it. On the other side of the sway bar is a fixed link where the sway bar pivots and rotates at. As this point stays the same, again, it limits the amount of down travel as well as up travel.

I ran this one trail for the first time with the KDSS still connected and the truck was very unstable in this one uphill, off camber spot as the travel was maxed out, so I was getting wheel lift. The next time I ran this trail, I walked right up the same spot and felt way more stable and got through without issue due to the added wheel travel.

Don't get me wrong, the KDSS is awesome on the street, it really made the 4Runner handle a lot better even after the lift. It just is not compatible with the LT rear suspension set-up.
Interesting. That basically confirms everything I thought.

Having brought my truck to the limits several times I can definitely feel the limitations of KDSS. I just don't know about running no sways on the street. Seems like I would fight to keep the truck in the lane. I really wish someone would come up with a disconnect.

I have been running with no sway bars for a few years now. It takes some getting used to, but I do not drive like a maniac. I drive to the mountains on a 2-lane windy highway a few time a month with no issues. Now they are selling Anti-Rock kits that will help. @JSparky has installed one. I have one sitting in the garage waiting to install one day.

Toytec Boss 3" set to 2.5"
SPC UCA's
285/65 Toyo Gran Country A/T
18x9 et0 Enkei RPT1

Still need to get a wheel spacer for the front. Aesthetic reasons only.
Any recommendations? I am afraid of spacers due to some horror stories I have read.

No BMC. Very mild rubbing on rear plastic fender well driver side at 3/4 turn going backwards. Not enough to make me do anything about it, very rare that it happens. I think if I ever get some aftermarket UCA's it would adjust the caster enough forward to avoid completely.

Going to 255/80's next and will address it then if they touch.

God I love those wheels. They basically ruined me for all the common offroading wheels. Ill just run stock until I can afford those or some other OG JDM company puts something out for us.

Custom valved 2.5 king shock coil over extended travel finned resis, adjusters and stainless shafts front. Custom valved 2.5 king shock w/ Triple bypass ( prototyping for King) w/ finned resis, stainless shafts extended travel.

I have the front leveled to a stock rear “height”. But I’m testing a prototype coil out as well. I’ll get more into it later on my build page.

Running 34’s on some trd forged wheels. Perfect wheel for this truck. No need for body mount chop. Just had to remove the front mud flaps and also slight trimming of the front inner fender liner.

Today I’m going to throw in another could for about 2” rear lift. My thing is not about lift. I actually want to be as low as I can but pull x amount of travel.
