Not sure if it is worth it since I'm getting a decent amount of mileage early on in the life of my Runner (over 18K in 5 months). Curious to see what others with the high mileage/young vehicle combo have done.

$329.00 seems like a lot of money for what's essentially two oil changes. I know that includes tire rotations, but most tire places (Pep Boys, Merchants, Tire Kingdom) will rotate them for free with the purchase of an oil change. My plan is once my ToyotaCare is up is to hopefully find a dealership that will price match competitor coupons. When I owned my Nissan Frontier, my local Nissan dealership didn't bat an eye about honoring a $40 synthetic oil change and tire rotation coupon that a local Midas shop was always offering.

The extended toyotacare service is a ripoff. Doesn't save a dime. The advertising is deceptive.

The "Yea's" are creeping up at 39%, with just under 6% of them having actually used the extended warranty...

Thanks for the advice! Figured as much but figured it would be worth mentioning here and get feedback.

Likely mentioned above, but be sure you are getting a Toyota warranty and not some 3rd party POS warranty that isn't worth the paper it's written on. Some dealers sell these useless warranties. For them, it's all about profit.
Before I'd buy an extended warranty from a dealer I would try to get a feel from others how they've responded to extended warranty claims. This may be easier said than done. Some dealers are are bad about honoring bumper-to-bumper warranties. They go out of their way to convince you "that's normal" or "it's not covered". If you know that to be the case, you can bet you'll get pushed away when you show up with a problem that you think is covered with an extended warranty.
I've never purchased an extended warranty. If it helps you sleep at night, go for it, but beware.

I didn't get one with our 2011 and we had it for app 170k and no issues at all.
I passed on our 2017 as well. The 4runner is a pretty simple vehicle. Now if I got a Prius Prime OTOH...

I haven't planned to, but I keep thinking about the KDSS down the road and that would be the only thing I think I'd want an extended warranty for. On the flip side, many LC's and Lexus's etc have had no issues with the system over 100K miles.

YES...because you never know...
i used my normal warranty...a month into ownership of my barely used T4R, my drivers seat lumbar support died. I took it in, and within a week, i had the truck back, and got out of the very nice Camry loaner that i let my wife drive around...since i did not like it lol.
I was offered the extended warranty, and turned it down. Hey, these things are so robust, ill never need that. but wait, i didnt already know about one of the very few weak points of the truck...the door lock actuators. And now i have two that do not work. If i had the extended warranty, they would have been replaced by now. oh well...
Better safe than sorry. and if you are like me, and so many others, and you plan to keep the rig until it dies, what better way to keep it new-ish, than to have that warranty in your pocket, to replace anything that isnt a wear item.
just my 2 cents...
FYI...i have had nothing else fail on me in my 3 years/70K miles of ownershiop so...im not regretful in any way...

I would rather save the money. I don't want to fight with anyone over the fault and warranty coverage. Unless there is a catastrophic hardware failure most software issues are resolved with a system "reboot". System patches are likely lifetime coverage too. The standard coverage is fine for me. If the vehicle makes it two years past payoff I am happy. Anything else is gravy to me.
Many repairs are wear items.

Results may vary but these are almost always useless in my experience.

With 120 votes to date, the "yeas" are making a push with about 42% of the total vote.
Of those reporting that they have an extended warranty, approximately 11.7% have had occasion to use it thus far.

A bump to see if we can get any additional data points for the survey.

I was back and forth on the warranty. I have owned Toyota’s for along time. Have never takin a extended warranty. My wife thinks I should not have takin this one. I took the Toyota premium thru Toyota. 10 years 100000 miles. Deceision factors I don’t plan on getting rid of my 2017 Pro. I don’t plan on modding it. I did al that to my 2015 Tacoma TRD Sport. Removed all my mods and sold them. I like how the Pro looks without doing anything to it. Something goes wrong don’t have to deal with issues with the dealership with mods added. Another did not have to put much money out for my Pro so I chosed the piece of mind route.
