Too bad you are in CA, 93 octane is fun. 91 should still give you seat of the pants juice.

From what I understand our ECU is a learning module. It has a table of known values, but also maintains a table of real world values and results. The former cannot be erased by disconnecting the battery. The latter data is lost when you do so. The ECU favors the latter, but will revert to the former if need be.
Yes, I'd suggest disconnecting the battery for a couple hours to reset the ECU. If you've ever done this without making a mod, you'll notice the response is a little better but fades quickly. I'd equate that to it using the default value table because the real world table is blank. Letting the ECU forget its learned behavior after installing a mod which will affect performance is a good idea. Then it should start learning from the base level OEM table with the modifications.

I got my URD MAF Calibrator in and installed over the weekend, I wanted to post some pictures and details for what I ran into during the install.
I got the plug and play version which comes prewired for the MAF sensor and the spark plug coil, highly recommend spending the extra coin.
As for mounting, I went ahead and ziptied it the rear engine bay wire bundle.
The second wire harness plugs into the middle cylinder ignition coil, I had trouble finding it at first because this big ass emissions sensor is over top of the middle coil.
Here's a look where the wires are run, I had already unplugged the MAF sensor wire and ignition coil wire, so you can see where they both plug into.
Here's a better look at the ignition coil wire pulled out from under the piece that's hiding it
Here you can see that it's labeled and pre-tuned for my AFE Magnum GT Intake
And here's the wires all plugged in and tied down.
Better look at the tied up wires, I made it as clean as I possibly could. Overall impressions so far are very good, it seems to have smoothed out the idle and the shifts. I only took 2 short drives so far, so I'm excited to see how it drives this week.
Here's the engine bay all cleaned up with everything tied up and buttoned down. Looking clean and tidy!

It's been great, it levels out the shifts and has made a noticeable improvement in acceleration. The truck actually knows what it's doing between 2500 and 4500 RPM now. I've also gained 1 MPG even cranking my AC since it's been in the 90's here the last 2 weeks

Thank you for the reply and appreciate the info. Been on the fence about getting one. Seems like a worth while upgrade. Just out of curiosity, I see in your sig you have the Borla Touring exhaust, I do too. Does Gadget have a preload map that for that with intake as well? I have the TRD intake and see he has a map for that. I planned on reaching out to him about it, just curious if you inquired about intake/exhaust combo map.

I listed the TB spacer and Borla exhaust on my mods list when I ordered, it doesn't appear that the cat-back makes a difference since he's just mapping the intake air and ignition spark/fuel ratio. I don't think the exhaust factors in.

I even added the Y with my TRD cai tube, Gadget said use the trd tune, should be fine. You can always do a custom tune as well with his U tune program, Steve he can provide his download link. He recommends seat of the pants dyno and not a true dyno at the shop. Call him and he will explain why.

I’m sure the TRD map will be fine. Thought about a custom tune, read the instruction manual and other threads to get an idea of what’s involved. I don’t have a AFR gauge/wideband O2 sensor, OBDII scanner or data logging and those could start adding up pretty quickly, not sure if it would be worth the extra money. I will get ahold of Steve before purchase. Thanks for the info!

I have one showing up today. I have seen it plugged into cylinders 1 and 2. 1 has much better access. Does it matter?

The directions say to plug it into the middle cylinder which I believe is 2, pretty sure it matters

Before I went SC, I had asked Gadget about this since the air injection system makes the middle cylinder spark plug wire a PITA to get to. He said it didn't really matter which cylinder you used.

So, does anyone have the firing order and which is cylinder 2?
