2013 Map Update
How do we update maps on a 2013 with a USB port but no micro slot?
The DVD I purchased has files on it but won't run the map update. The system acts like it's reading the DVD then quits after a while.

2010 to 2012 can use the DVD, 2014 and up uses a memory chip.
2013 is odd, it has to be done by a dealer. I found a post by
@ BlackWorksInc
(I think) giving the details. Can't find the post now but read enough to give up and use Google maps when needed to supplement the system.

Spent about 15 minutes trying to search for it. It may not have been
@ BlackWorksInc
, If it was, I was hoping he would reply.

I believe that the instructions you are looking for are in this thread. I also have a 2013 and looked into updating the terrible maps. Too much work!

Copied this from BlackworksInc post of 2015, plan to continue to use Google maps as a supplement. Toyota lost their mind with this one:
__________________________________________________ ____
Starting with the 2012 model year, all the headunits from then are updated via the USB drive.
The file should be "01032-HBEKR-15A.zip" (before it's unpacked), that will update the Entune to 5.1.0
Unfortunately, it does not update the map and GraceNote databases; this is strictly for the Entune OS. As far as I know if you want to update the Map & GraceNote Databases you have to purchase an ACN (Activation Card Number) from the dealer parts department:
Then the technician will use a SST USB Drive to get a request code from the Headunit, then inputs the Request Code, the ACN and additional information into TIS for a valid software license key, which then gets inputted into the headunit and allows it to update the map databases via the SST USB. It takes something like 35mins just for the update to installation once you validate it.
I don't think they started using the MicroSD cards until about 2014 on a lot of our models. But it does seem to be plug & play.

I threw my DVD in the fireplace and watched it melt away after the seller did not respond to my request for a return.

If I remember right something like 2010-2013 or so were the oddball years where there was still a DVD for the Maps. I really don't know where to get pirated copies of that stuff anymore and I believe Toyota is starting to phase out production of those DVDs, but that was a rumor I heard so can't say I give it much credence.

While I have all of your 2013 trail owners here. Can I ask what are you getting for your MPG? I'm driving city (like red lights only) and I'm getting 14.3...hand calculated/computer calculated
Isn't it suppose to be around 17 even if it's city only?
Thanks in advance
