One request I would make is on the powder coating. I think it would be real smart to do the steps ( and just on the steps) with a textured powder coat to help hide scuff marks and give a little traction for when you use the ladder.

Looks good...it will match with the Prinsu style roof racks nicely.

Price competitive with which company? gobi is at $220 and Baja is $350. Even eotech I think is at $350 ish. I am looking for one but it falls under the "would like to have" category versus "need".

Hopefully the price falls closer to the gobi as I feel that baja’s ladder is out of line for what you get. Yes aluminum is more expensive but with this ladder being of a modular design, the laber costs for manufacturing as your not paying a welder to to sit around and weld everything up should be low to counter balance the material cost some I would think. A ladder falls under wants, not need for me too so I will see where the price falls because lord knows if I get one, I am eventually going to end up getting some attachments too.

In that range and I'm good. The Ecotechne I like, but stories and dealing with the company make it a no go. I think the Baja is overpriced, but they seem to sell them, so good for them.

Gobi sells the replacement gas tubes for the rear lift gate to accommodate accessories on a ladder.

Yes it will be very easy! That was one of our main goals in designing the ladder.

We will keep everyone updated as to when the product is ready to purchase! We may do a pre-order once we get some more marketing content put together with the first prototype one.

Something like this should work well for those who want extra traction: https://8020.net/40-2877.html

Planning on pricing it under $350. Aluminum is quite expensive right now so the material needed for the ladder frame and the T-Slot steps adds up pretty quick. We have some initial costs all figured out, but we aren't 100% sure where we are going to set retail pricing yet.

We got the first ladder powder coated and installed. We are going to put some miles on it for a little while and make sure we use it a lot and see if we run into any issues.
So far everything is great on it, fitment is tight and the ladder assembles easily.
Ladder fits with Frontrunner roof rack and CBI swing out bumpers. The ladder also fits with our new rear bumper that we will be putting into production soon!

Here are some photos.

I gotta say: That looks really good to me! I like how it has slots/holes for attaching things and/or grabbing on to.

One request in your testing: mount one end of a hammock to it and test with 300-350lbs (roughly the weight of myself and my wife). We seem to always camp somewhere with only one mounting spot for the hammock.

...please.
