Vancouver or BC shops in canada? Need a lift on KDSS

Hi all, for those in BC, does anyone have recommendations on a shop that is familiar and well versed in lifting 4runners with KDSS.

Called up a few generic shops like CapIt and they had no clue.

Ill be honest, i dont know much about lifts so im looking for a reputable shop working with kdss to hold my hand. Ive always been a sport car motorcycle guy.

These guys just started doing 4runners. I haven’t used them but know of people that have. Not sure on prices but they’ll definitely set you up.

I would also like to know. Just got a TRD Off Road and sussing out my options on lifting. Based in Van too.

My cousin recommended North Shore Off Road, but I haven't talked to them yet.

Thanks. Ill try rpi.

Nshore is very popular. But i usally see them working mostly on jeeps.

I usually start my convo "are you guys familiar with lifting a vehicle with kdss"? If they sound clueless then i move on.

The shops locally here seem limited in working woth kdss. Just want someone who has at least done a dew installs with kdss so thet know how to properly navigate around it.

If you think of it, pop back on here when you've settled on somewhere. Or PM me the details. Would love to know how it works out and what it costs.

KDSS isn't that big of a deal when you are lifting and very few shops will have seen a vehicle equipped with it since only some LandCruisers and even less 4runners have the system. Any decent shop will do fine. I did my TE in my garage no problem. You are unnecessarily limiting yourself.

great suggestions, i'll try for Dales first, just cause I liked his youtube video! lol

On another note: Is there a BC / Vancouver area 4runner forum / ride group? I'd love to start doing some mild rides and meet some new enthusiast.

I'm not on facebook, but I believe there is one there. Just wondering forum active groups or club websites etc.

I can strongly recommend them, but I am biased since my friend Jonny owns the shop and they've done all the work on my 4R, which has kdss.

If you have any more questions regarding them feel free to pm me.

I agree with @Swarty .....I have never done a lift before on a 4x4 until I did my 4 runner with KDSS...last summer...ITS NOT that hard at all...just time consuming......just take your time and read the posts on this forum and they will walk you right thru the installation.....and you will have a much better understanding of your vehicle if you have troubles out in the middle of no where!.....You Can Do It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could have worked on one and forgot or not known the system name...

KDSS isn’t really involved or at all common so I wouldn’t expect shops to remember the name. A mechanic could easily have installed a system. Saw the unusual sway bar, went “neat” and then not bothered about it again. It doesn’t affect the install and doesn’t need to be touched during a lift install. Expecting shops to remember the system will just limit you needlessly. Lots of great shops don’t remember every random brand acronym.
