Installed at last, also added half inch cornfed spacers to rear to keep a bit of rake. I was running 1" spacers in the front before but I was expecting a more dramatic look for the front. Set it up at the first notch. Curious to see if the rear will settle or stay.
Either way I'm stoked to finally have it on. Exceeded my expectations on the first drive, nosedive is basically non-existent now, cornering improved, handles amazing. I like everything about it right now.

Compared to my OEM XREAS suspension with Toytec 2.5/1.5 spacer lift, this lift feels so much better on road, it takes potholes and road imperfections much better (XREAS may have been compromised at 70K). Pot holes and speed bumps no longer feel like i totaled my car every-time i drive over them. I have yet to test it out off-road.
I went with this lift set up because I wanted the lower spring rates that Dobinsons offers as well as being able to dial in the perfect lift numbers for my needs and the Eibach shocks have great reviews and the mono tube design is what I was after. My end goal was really to get the smoothest on road ride I could get without dishing out for Kings and I think i accomplished just that. I do have a slight driver side lean that I will address with a top plate spacer after a couple of months if it remains. Also my XREAS lines are zip tied currently and I plan on removing the system soon.
Let me know if any of you have any questions!

This is probably what I’m going to do after seeing yours. Looks good. Most likely 2/1” though instead of 2.5/2”. What size falkens you running? Any reason you didn’t run 5100’s or 6112/5160’s?
Thanks

I don't mind the way it feels now, stiffer than stock, just wondering how the ride will change swapping the stock springs to the eibach lift springs. I'll be resetting the bilstein back to the 0 setting for the eibachs. Thanks !

Have you gotten an alignment? I also have a 3rd row limited and same tires. Did you rub on stock height? I am currently but it’s just the fender liner. And where’d you order the shocks from?

I did rub on fender liner due to my wheel spacers but i just pushed it up about an inch and a half. Yes i did get an alignment its required after suspension replacement. Buybrakes.com

I called Eibach and talked to tech support and they told me something completely different than they told my shop. Told shop to adjust and test where it sits. Problem is you need to pull the strut each time.
I called Eibach and they tracked down the R&D guy who knows about these and this is what I was told.---- need to release the preload, said I should be able to compress the spring on the rig while it's jacked up. Then said 12 turns =1" of lift or 3 turns for 1/4". Perfect, I run to harbor freight and get the spring compressor for 30bucks....it don't fit on the coils. Maybe they sell coil compressor that will fit while installed???
What did I find out? Jacked the rig up to attempt the adjustment and since could do nothing put the tire on and done. I measured before and again afterwards. Just jacking it up and lowering it, not driving the rig raised the whole damn front 3/4". I can only recommend set the damn things, forget the alignment and put a few hundred miles and hope they settle. No wonder shop had a hard time, they move every time he lifted it up....without adjustment. Next is the 12 threads per inch theroy. My shop left them at 7 threads from the bottom. One side got 1.5" the other 2".....so much for the 12 threads per inch. Will report back in a few hundred miles. Anyone else, please report back findings, I really want to know if mine are ****ed up or if they simply need to settle.
Edit- I've read so much that for true measurements check at 1/2 tank of gas. After giving up the the day, had 1/4 tank. went to the gas station and measured before and after being a full tank. The measurements were identical, adding gas did nothing. Also the eibach rear springs got 1.5" lift, not the advertised 1"...maybe they will settle 1/2" ?
|
Finally. Had a buddy come to pull both struts and a spring compressor. Funny thing is only had to pull one side.
Drivers side needed to go up 1" P - 1/2". Raised drivers side 1" and passenger went up on its own, I don't get it but right now dont care because both sides are 2.5" with zero lean.
Springs have ~900 miles on them and settled 0". Measurements were taken at the exact same spot (marked off on my garage floor with tape).
Time for 285's!
Anybody have a clue how the drivers side lifted the passenger side?

UPDATE (from the TRD PRO thread, but also applicable to our non-pro 4Runner kits):
Just sat down with the production team to review status of the kit. Our ETA of 7/10 has to be moved, as the raw materials had been delayed to get to us. The inaccuracy of the date is populated by our system, BUT my research here has exposed an opportunity for improvement to the algorithm which I'm reviewing with the team later today.
For those who are not familiar with the supply chain, we in manufacturing are effected from the raw metal being pulled from the earth, all the way down to the boxes we pack the product in. This is why we had originally mentioned there was no new ETA to some of you guys.
We now have the wire and many part numbers to make at once, INCLUDING our standard 4Runner springs, which we have many people waiting for as well. Work orders have been cut and wire allocated to fulfill the first run. Both 4Runner systems have been moved to our highest production priority, but with more back-orders on our standard 4Runner kit, they will be wound first. We estimate that the PRO springs will be on the winder in about 2 weeks, and require another 2 weeks to flow through the process. I can, and will update with a more finite "on the shelf" date as soon as the PRO springs are wound.

The only parts that are connected to both suspension assemblies are the steering rack and sway bar. With a larger bar (high rate) it's possible for a change in position to influence the opposite side. Outside of that, appropriately scrubbing the suspension after dropping it to the ground can and will effect the ride height measurments.

The install shop left them set 1.5" drivers 2" passenger and they settled zero ~900 miles.
Only thing we did is adjust drivers side 12 threads as recommend by Eibach and we did get 1" on the drivers side. Measurement was taken after driving ~25 crummy road miles. Went to premeasure passenger side before adjusting and no need. It raised itself.
Not sure what it is with Eibach adjustable. The rears that are supposed to be 0" to 2" gave me 7/8" passenger with adjuster full down. Drivers adjusted full up (38mm) gave me 3/4". Your tech support said it was my torsion bar..umm, not sure I have one and if so, explain how the regular Eibachs that are rated 1" both gave me exactly 1.5" on both sides evenly. That said it's not the runner, it's the springs.
Note, these springs are only mod on the rig right now, rest is OEM.

Hey all, new member here. Just traded my Tacoma last week for a 2020 ORP and have the Eibach kit ordered. Keep going back and forth between 265 and 285, not really interested in any of the limited offerings in 275. I will be running SCS 17x8.5 wheels with a -10 offset and leaning towards the Nitto Ridge Grapplers. For those of you that stayed with the stock size tires with this kit any disappointment with not going up to a 285? Some of the pics the 265's look great, others look a tad small. I understand it basically boils down to individual preference but looking for some honest feedback. I appreciate it, thanks!

I bought my grabber 265's cause lifting my runner was not in the plans. If I had to do it over I would of gone from the stock dunlops straight to 285's. Main reason I installed spidertrax spacers is to have a beefier and wider stance with the stock wheels and 265's until I upgrade the wheels and tires. I still love the look but I know it'll look way better with 285's.
