"Our testing shows a gain of 133 RWHP and 120 RWTQ with a low boost pressure of only 5.5-6 PSI."
"This was using a 2012 FJ Cruiser 4×4 with a manual transmission and 82,000 miles on it. Completely stock except for the URD Supercharger system using Shell 93 Octane gas. Dyno was URD’s DynoJet 224xLC using SAE correction factor and located in Owings MD very close to sea level. Boost peaks at about 5.5-6 PSI"

Says it will work with a snorkel as well.
I am waiting to hear if it is CA Carb exempt so I can run it. I will not buy a supercharger if I have to take it off every two years to get my smog done.

glad to see this finally released. I've been watching this one along with the Mag one and now just need to make up my mind which to go with.

CARB exempt LOL. I'm almost sure that won't happen with a small company. It's even a slow expensive process for a big company.
BUT, just curious. How do the California gestapo CARB police know you have a supercharger installed. Do they inspect the motor during a smog test... I'm so glad the reset of the country has not followed the republic if California.
Pretty sure it would pass the sniffer tests as nothing there really changes much.

They open up the hood and peek around, some guys also put it on a lift to look for the cat, etc.
The shop that inspected my gf's beater Jeep she drives into SF wanted to know why the plastic engine cover was missing (dealer lost it) but he thought that we'd waste the time and money modding a POS worth 1500 bucks and forgot to put the cover back on when we removed the VTEC.

It recently changed how they do smog here in Komifornia.
They plug in your car into a obd2 port and sends information directly to the state. And then they do a visual ...

its different here Texas by county... Most don't do any test. But in the big metro areas they do different things depending on the county and the past EPA fines.... In mine, they just run the ODBII tests, no sniffer unless your car is not ODBII (which is very few these day) then the do the sniffer.
However, statewide.. You only need emissions for cars between 2 - 24 years old. So right now 1994 and older are totally exempt and you can run whatever you like emissions wise. Just a basic safety inspection is required and there is legislation to eliminate that in progress.
What is the rule with older cars in the republic of Kalifornia. I remember hearing 1975 and up still have to have emissions tests (which seems crazy).

Magnuson is really lagging on CARB certification. I've been on their wait list for months without a single peep of progress. Suspect they are waiting to see how many preorders or at least pre "I'm interested" to see if they will even bother. Thus, great to have another competitor here, CARB or not.
Perhaps more importantly this kit sounds like way more power than the Magnuson kit. Magnuson is quoted as 130% gains whereas URD quotes +130 WHEEL hp gain. Assuming 20% loss the URD would be
270 hp * 0.8 = 216 rwhp, 216 rwhp + 130 rwhp = 346 rwhp, 346 rwhp/0.8 = 433 crank hp
That is 160% gain! Are the kits really going to be that different?

Sounds like the URD kit uses a larger dual screw 2.3 liter unit that is operating at a low percentage of its capability. They say it’s oversized for future upgrades.
I’d love one of these kits. Anyone have an idea how many hours of labor you could expect to pay for install?
