I am with you. I don't care if the tires don't meet a consensus about the looks. I would not be happy with poorer mpg's, slower acceleration, longer deceleration with additional brake wear with a potential need for regearing the axles as well as a harsher ride with E-rated tires.
If someone wants the big tires mainly for better offroading then it is all good. I understand why folks will focus on the appearance of a vehicle but I bought my 4R to get into the back country with my trailer and appearance is last on the list to reliability and functionality.

I had no issues with my 2013. Toytec 3" lift (5100's, front/rear springs, 1/2" front spacer). I had a Budbuilt hidden winch mount and Engo SR10S on the front.
Stock size Falken AT3 tires.

My son and friend did a 1" front spacer lift on my Limited. I am not an off roader though... running 265 17s.

265/70/17 KO2's on 17x9 -12
Def skipped leg day...
Roughly 2.5" of lift up front w/ 5100's & Toytec HD coils & 2" in the rear w/ Toytec SuperFlex coils & 5160's.
Because of the -12 offset wheels I do have slight rub at the rear of the front wheel wells (at mud flap plastic). Nothing that'll damage anything because its at extremely slow speed at reverse full lock. I did have rub at the front of the front wheel wells but the fender liner mod took care of that with about 1.5" of plastic pulled up/removed.
I will be moving on up to 285 KM2's after these KO2's wear out though. The 265's just look slightly out of place with this lift, but nothing I can't stand until it's time for new tires.

I did not get the lift to impress with looks, but to get better approach and departure angles when 4 wheeling. I like the looks okay, but am more concerned with function. If others don't like the look, I don't care. They are not driving it or paying for it and my build is to get the job done, not impress someone at the mall.
As far as handling, the lift stopped the front dive and cornering seems to be better, but the ride is stiffer.

I always liked the silver 4R and yours looks great .
Put some black TRD rims on it and it would look badass .

2" Bilstein 6112 up front, 1.5" 5100's w/OME coils in rear.
17x8.5", -6 offset wheels wrapped in 265's Falken AT3W. Had to remove front mud flaps and cut the inner front bumper as these were rubbing on full lock.
Truck now rides better than stock (feels more planted), however, my mpg's did take a hit. Overall, I'm satisfied with the outcome!

Thanks!
The roof led bar is from Extreme LED. It's their 44inch x6 model.
I went with it to match the bundled x6s light bar that came with my C4 Fab bumper.
I've been really happy with both bars so far. Also keep an eye for sales on their site. Here's a thread with more info. Link
Edit: To stay on topic here are two more photos from the side showing my 265's and lift.

Mild lift with stock tire size is the best compromise for me between daily driving and off roading, which I'm only able to do once a month.
Every time I think I want 33s, my fear of how much more sluggish my truck would be without a regear keeps me from doing it.

mine is a daily driver and I stuck with stock size to maximize mileage. Sometimes the tires look small, but for overall performance, I prefer stock.
Top picture is totally stock...bottom picture is with new wheels, tires, and lift. Just changing the type of tire also makes a big difference...wheel offset also improves the look

This is the second 4runner I've lifted, and I can honestly say that the tread pattern of the tire makes a much bigger difference than the size of the tire when it comes to appearance. I've got 275 K02 E rated on mine right now at stock height, and will be going back to 265 p rated Falkens when I install my lift soon. E rated tires are very much overkill for a 4Runner unless you plan on significant miles off road.

It's been fine for me so far. While it definitely looks better with larger tires, will definitely wait until I finish up this set of 265's.
