Lifts with 265/70/17, issues?

Hi all, just wanted some subjected feedback on lifts that people run 265s still. Tons of 285 setups and lifts which make sense but this is my daily driver for 90%. Gas prices are starting to get ridiculous where i live so thinking 265s with a modest lift.

How high did you go? Pics of side and back?

Any handling gripes running a less wide tire on a higher setup?

Truck still feel as planted on city and hwy?

265 lifted makes your rig look like you forgot to go to leg day at the gym, but you won't have any problems rubbing if you decide to keep those tires with a lift.

it depends on how high you go. IF you go with a 1 inch lift, it looks alright. 2 inches is kinda noticeable. 3inches doesn't look good, you end up with alot of space in the wheel well and your tires will look sunk in.

I mean do what your budget allows you to do. You can always get tires later.

If you decide to do 265's and lift, I'd run wheel spacers to make everything look more proportional, but thats just my opinion.

MY plan is to run 265’s and a 1” lift in the front. I’ve seen a bunch of photos and think it’s looks great.

After hours and hours of research I decided on KO2 265s with the Bilstein FJ kit, gives a 1” lift.

2" all around with Bilstein 5100's. On my second set of 265/70-17 General Grabber AT2's. Perfectly content to remain so. This is a 3 year old picture, but best angle right after changes. I am running 8" wheels and Spidertrax spacers.

I like 2” and 265’s. I’m sitting at 2” front, 1.5” rear

Mine is a Toytec at about 2 1/2" with stock 265's. This pic shows the factory tires and I now have 265 Toyo's. I am happy with the tire size and the fact that the speedometer didn't change and the mileage didn't change.

I did not get the lift to impress with looks, but to get better approach and departure angles when 4 wheeling. I like the looks okay, but am more concerned with function. If others don't like the look, I don't care. They are not driving it or paying for it and my build is to get the job done, not impress someone at the mall.

As far as handling, the lift stopped the front dive and cornering seems to be better, but the ride is stiffer.

consensus seems like uner 2inchs will still look decent. thx! i might do a 1.75 ~ for the front and go up the rear a bit higher to ensure I dont end up with a negative rake.

I went 2.5" front and 1.5" rear. I did go up to the 275/70s and went to a wider wheel with a negative offset. They are 17x9 -12. I like the look, but have been tempted to go up to 285s. That said, I have a friend who has a 2" lift all around with 265s and spidertrax on stock wheels. They sit about flush with the fender flares, maybe slightly further out. It doesn't look bad/odd at all. The wider stance for sure makes it look more proportional as previously stated.

I skipped leg day.

Here's some pics of my setup. 3 inch lift all around. Still rocking 265's. I'm happy with it.

May go to a 275 for a tiny bit more ground clearance when this set wears out but I'll cross that bridge when I get there.
