Dome light is lost, and 1/4-20 nut clips go in, to existing mounting holes.

There was a “what product do you wish someone made” thread a couple weeks ago and I suggested an extended overhead console thing. This is almost exactly what I had in mind! I even thought maybe this could be my way to make some cash haha! I didn’t think about extending it back to the dome light and using that to mount.

Rago fab makes some universal panels of various dimensions that you could probably use too. You would just have to use some kind of mount for the dome light.

Seems this would be a bother for a taller driver. I am only 6 ft. 2 in. , but I have to duck my head now to see under the roofline while driving. Looks good but I don't know what I would hang there that would be of any practical use and not block vision.

And, with those hard case speakers or other hard items attached, any driver better have on a helmet when driving a rough trail!

You do? Hell man, I’m 8” taller and this is the first vehicle I don’t fell like I have to duck to see out of every time I drive it. That’s why I went 4Runner over Tundra. It doesn’t look like it will be a huge issue because it’s going down the center of the truck.

Hmm. Well maybe it is just a habit I have from driving an 84 4Runner for 32 years! LOL!

Could be I can form a new driving habit after having this vehicle for a while!

Looks like a great place to put communications and navigation equipment without blocking the already limited windshield real estate or cutting into foot well space.
