ARB Roof Basket/Rack?
Is anybody running an ARB roof rack/basket on your 5th gen? I like the description, but can't find much info about mounting, fit, or real world use. For example, I know they need a "mounting kit", but is it no drill? It doesn't say anywhere... The picture for the mounting kit is the same for a Runner as an FJ or a 90 series Cruiser...

Hey Thrasher,
I have the ARB Touring Rack, which is 1/4 basket in the front then a flat utility rack for the rest. It's also a 3/4 length (entire roof length) rack that goes to about mid way up the sunroof.
I love the rack and its usefulness/utility. At the moment because I'm camping and in deep sand a lot, I'm carrying 4x TRED PROS my Tepui RTT, ARB Awning, fishing poles and the 20" ARB Intensity light bar. It's incredible how well they make integration of their parts work.
The noise is low and with the tent off I can get in my garage still (door is 80")
ARB makes several racks for the 5th gen so their fit kit is universal to any of those. No drilling. Just bolt in to the existing points. So if you want a basket for one type of trip and a flat rack because you're all of a sudden needing to carry plywood or want that hard shell roof top tent, you can swap.
I went wheeling in Australia last year and that's where I became an ARB fanboy. Lol. Im a big believer in ARB quality here and have reflected that in my build.

Exactly what AFdude said. Fits in the stock roof rack location. When you install just liberally apply some RTV Silicone in the screw holes before install and you won't ever have any leaks.
I have their full sized basket (3/4 Length of our roof) and it's great. It added some noise but nothing terrible. When opening the sunroof it pushes air in quite differently so I don't use it as much anymore. Overall I love it and use it all the time

If you don't mind me asking, how tall is the basket in the front from the roof of the vehicle?

Mine is 8.5" from the roof to the tallest part of the rack at the front

Thanks guys!
More info from your posts than I've gotten from ARB or a 1/2 dozen companies who sell them online.
Would either of you mind taking a few more pics? Including the mounting feet and how they connect? I know ARB makes good stuff, I'm trying to justify the price to myself.

The ARB mounting system is similar to the Rhino Rack Backbone or Frontrunner mounts, amongst others. Looks the same as this video for a 4th gen... https://youtu.be/dvqZrcdzemM

Interesting. So it’s a mounting rail then? Not just 4 feet? That helps explain why it’s $200+.
This is why I want 5th gen specific pics.
