hmm, strange, even my wife noticed and I didn't even tell her I had installed them yet. It definitely makes a noticeable difference in quality.

With respect towards everyone's views, my conclusion is that if you are an audiophile these Subaru tweeters probably aren't worth your money or your time. Kinda sounds like if you are like me, an average ear Joe, they may be a significant improvement . No doubt going to the 3.5" woofer/tweeter will render better sound. However, the trade-off is more work is required for the installation. I could handle the installation , but if I upgrade at all makes more sense to me to just drop in the "plug and play" Subaru tweeters.

I agree. I just installed these today and they sound great. I would say 80% of 4runner owners would appreciate these. The other 20% need something better, which is fine and understandable. The install was maybe 15 mins.

I got mine today. Installed in 10 minutes as well. Noticeably better than before. I think it was worth it.

I do consider myself an audiophile and I still think these were worth the $90 and the 15 minutes. So much so two 4Runner owning buddies ordered them at my suggestion. Just installed another set tonight for one of them.

I placed my order on Amazon today, I am willing to roll the dice based on the generally favorable reviews and apparent straight forward installation. Once I get them installed , I promise to give my unbiased thoughts.

I love my 2015 TRD 4Runner, but my non JBL stereo is only so-so. So any improvement will be appreciated.

I picked these up with the coupon from Ebay a couple weeks ago. Sound is clearer and installation took about 10 minutes total. Word of advice; the dash scratches very easily so be careful when using whatever tool you use when removing the speakers on the driver side. The "hump" over the gauges can get in the way.

I received the Subaru Kicker tweeters today. Installation could not have been easier, both were installed in less than 10 minutes. Easiest speaker upgrade I've ever done.

I listened to a few songs, and I believe the sound quality is noticeably improved. What I also seemed to notice is the mid range speakers also sound better. I do not know enough about the balance of speakers to cause this. Overall, I am very happy with the installation ease and the results.

Thank you Soccer13, great thread you started!

My wife has a '18 Crosstrek and I belong to their forum too. I bought a pair from a guy that upgraded for $40. Yay for me today!

Thumbs up

Add these yesterday and there is a difference in sound quality. Worth the money and it's an easy install!

My other car is a '16 WRX with the base stereo, and I did the same Kicker tweeter dash speaker upgrade (based on a WRX forum, of course) in that vehicle well over a year ago. It definitely helped out the weak audio system in the WRX noticeably, and so far there haven't been any issues that would make me question their longevity. That car is so loud at highway speeds that the volume needs to be cranked to even hear the music, so they do get a workout. The 4Runner is very quiet in comparison at highway speeds.

I might try plugging the Kickers out the WRX into the 4Runner as a test fit to see if I want to spend more money before pulling the trigger...

good deal on kicker tweeters

I looked at these on ebay a couple of days ago and got an email with a reduced price offer on them this morning:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/202435509429?ul_noapp=true

I think $60 is as cheap as you'll see them new, unless you could stack an ebay coupon on it as well. Just looked back at my ebay purchases and I (over)paid $88 for them in June of 17 for my WRX.

Carry on...
