How’d you mount that sucker? Any mods to the dash to fit them?
How’d the wiring go?

Just FYI, I got the upgrade bug and just ordered the Focal 690TOY component fronts. I installed the Kicker tweeters a few months ago and while it made a great difference to the highs, I kept wanting clearer mids and tighter lows.

Just a warning for those who are considering this mod ;)

That said, I will be selling my Kicker tweeters if there are any buyers. I am in Sacramento.

DeepSea- how's the kicker hideaway sub sound and where did you put it? Also, did you try this speaker upgrade?

Honestly sounds awesome, really does provide great bass fill for the lacking OEM audio. It fits perfectly under the driver seat and I haven't done the tweeter upgrade yet.

Thanks for the quick response. You may have sold me. I have a rockford fosgate punch amp and RF P3 subwoofer installed but the subwoofer/box takes up to much room in the back. I'll have to do a bit of research. I'm guessing since the kicker is powered i wont need the amp...

I listen to a lot of Podcasts and unfortunately I really need to crank my speakers up to hear due to road noise. I was wondering if these Tweeters would help with being able to hear these Podcasts better?

After reading through this thread an a couple others, I've got a pair of Infinity Reference 3022cfx sitting here in a box ready for a decent day to install.
Thanks for all the knowledge and ideas, guys

That's what I did today. Followed this though... DIY; I was convinced I was gonna have to buy a harness after all but to my surprise this solution worked and the speakers sound great compared to stock. It was a tight fit on the passenger side.

The stock sound was much improved after the equalizer tweaks I think and slightly better with the kicker speakers increase.

That said, if I had had to do it again I probably would’ve just ordered the Focal Toyota front and dash speaker combo that is also plug and play (and also $250-280 I think) since replacing the door speaker will likely give better mids as well. I feel this Kicker upgrade improved mostly the highs like cymbals, etc, and maybe the mids only a very little bit.

For $100 and 15 minutes of time it was worth it, I’d say we’ll worth it. If you can get the speakers at a good discount I’d say even better, no brained to go for it.
I have tweaked the equalizer, -1 for bass, +1 for mid and +3 for treble since day 1. Before reading your (paparappa and str8flexed) posts, I thought I might give it a try, not any more.

Did this Kicker swap a couple months ago and definitely a noticeable difference in sound, most notable I've found in the mid to high volume ranges.

Dammit!! I dropped one of the bolts for the tweeter upgrade and it’s down in there somewhere. Anyone know what size it is so I can find a replacement?

Hertz audio dash speaker question

Hi everyone,
I was wondering since i honestly can't stand factory stereo sound quality- "used to do live show production" if anyone has tried using the hertz 3 way component setup in the front doors?
The main 6.5 would go in the stock door woofer area the tweeter would go in factory dash location and midrange would have to be custom mounted.

Hertz MPK 163.3 PRO Mille Pro Series 6-1/2" 3-way component speaker system at Crutchfield

Thanks
