Hmm, I didn't see their 35 foot distance in the article. I read it for reference but ended up using the Toyota pdf for my final instructions. Someone has it posted up on here. It's a little complicated for a 4Runner because it also mentions left/right aiming as well... Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the 4Runner does not have adjusters for left and right.

The fans on my Morimoto 2strokes are really singing. They are much much louder than when I first installed them. Makes me wonder if the fans are going to fail anytime soon.

Yeah mine have been pretty loud since day one. I think the limiting factor in these things will be the fan and heat.

I put a set in after work today. I'd say brightness is similar to the H9 halogen I had in. Whiter light allowing me to see the crisp cutoff better. Fan does run loud but the engine is louder on 4Runners anyways (I think). I love them...but I'm not trashing my H9s.

Can someone confirm if these install with the same turn-to-lock as OEM halogen bulbs? I installed over the weekend and it seemed if I continued to turn they would come out instead of locking into place. Is it possible this is a result of the tighter fitting gasket and I just need to give it even more inward force while twisting into the socket?

Mines dont lock into place either. I can spin them 360* and they pop out.

I initially tried them without the extra o-rings supplied and they didnt fit well. After adding the o-rings they were snug, but I can spin them freely inside the housing. Does anyone have a schematic of the headlight internals? Is there a physical stop inside that the two of us arent contacting?

This does sound unusual. I installed mine (no extra O-rings etc.) and they definitely locked in place, with the chips at 3 and 9 o'clock. You need to make sure they're clocked correctly, otherwise the lamp will not work as designed.

Ok, so I had a few minutes to take another look at these. I tried removing the passenger side first to just start over, and the LED separated from the H11 bracket, haha. So clearly the bracket is secure in the housing. Screwed it back in and set the arrows on the bulb housing to 9 and 3, is this correct? Moved on and did the same with the drivers side. With a 9 month old, I cant be out tinkering in the garage at 9pm when its finally dark, so just hoping tomorrow morning my light output is acceptable.

I've noticed the factory H11 has a little nub just below the widest blade on the mounting flange. The morimoto does not have this nub. Could this be the reason for it not locking in? Had to remove the gaskets to get a better pic. Also is the mounting bracket on the morimoto supposed to spin separately from the led? I noticed this was happening when trying to install them and i can do this by hand too. Thanks for your help

I feel you dude. 1½ year old at home and want to give the wife a break as much as possible, so garage time is nearly zero right now. I'm literally making wiring harnesses with all of the junk in my truck on lunch breaks etc.

Has anyone put the 2stroke 2.0 in a 2010-2013 with the reflector headlights? Everything I'm seeing here seems to be in the 2014+ projectors.
