Fan Blower Fuse Location?
My Blower seems to have stopped working but things like the fan indicator, temp setting display, etc. still work so I doubt it’s the fuse but I want to make sure. Anybody know if there is a dedicated fuse just for the Blower? And if so, where the hell is it?
Nothing in either fuse locations or in the OM is labeled as Blower or Fan. I did however find these but I don't think them be it.
Engine Panel
Location 9 = A/C COMP 10A Air conditioning system
Location 17 = HTR 50A A Air conditioning system
Inside Panel
Location 14 = ECU-IG NO.2 10A Air conditioning system, multiport fuel injection system/ sequential multiport fuel injection system
Location 20 = A/C 7.5A Air conditioning system

Can you get to the blower plug to check for power? I checked my 2013 SR5 manual and it isn't listed either.

I remember another thread where this was talked about. The correct fuse wasn’t identified so the poster was advised to pull the panel and check for 12.5v at the wiring harness to blower.

Hi philly2,
I did check for all hvac related fuses for your truck... but you've got the main one's in question! Now try this (and let me know if anything changes): Pull the 'Short-pin' from the top of the "Engine-room" main fuse/rly-box to "MASTER RESET" all of the ECU's in the dash; I suspect that it just froze-up, much like a windows laptop O.S. does on occasion.
The Short-pin 'IS NOT' a fuse, but a means of disconnecting ALL of the ecu's in the main body of the vehicle, to prevent (all 27) of the electronic processors from discharging the battery during it's transport from the factory (in Japan) to the dealerships in the Country where they will be sold.
Leave the short-pin out for a minimum of four hours to be sure all of the History logs and temporary files are removed/deleted so that the MASTER RESET can take place! 'Best to you',

The 50amp in spot 9 powers the blower motor.

Not too sure if the 50A fuse just pulls out

Separate blower motor issue
Hey all, I have a 2003 4.7L 4runner. Over the last few months the I've had to replace the blower motor, connector, and speed controller; yet, the motor kicks on for about 5 seconds then slowly dies to not spinning at all. This process can be repeated multiple time by turning off the motor then turning it on high again.
Unfortunately, I gave up and took it in to the local mechanic, whom told me the connector was faulty and burned out the motor. They replaced the motor(again) and fixed the connector.
This worked for about two days then the same problem arose. I'm taking it back to the mechanic, but I wanted to run this by the community here to see if anyone had the same issue before and what you did to fix it.

I just had my airbag recall done... now my blower motor and all associated control functions are non-operable. I get nothing, to controls light up, no servos, no blower.
This totally behaves like a forgotten harness or a total fk-up. I prefer the harness. I took a quick peak under the dash this morning before work and the main blower harness is connected, no fuses blown. I guess I start pulling trim tonight. Anyone know of the location of the control. I suppose it could be as simple as the dash HVAC harness. Hmm thinking out loud, I hope thats it.

Found this thread from a google search, just wanted to add my experience and ask a quick question.
Today my HVAC blower motor stopped in my 2006 4Runner. I looked in both fuse pannels and did not see a fuse that was labeled blower or anything I could identify as similar, hence the google search.
As Brian indicated, I pulled the plug to the blower and measured 13 volts on the connector with the fan control on high. Maybe it is the motor... so I pulled the motor out, three 8mm screws and it is out. Used alligator clip jumpers and powered the motor with the battery and the motor spins. Plugged it back into the 4Runner and it spins. Bolted it all back together and it all is good.
So did the motor just get "stuck"? Is this a known failure mode when the blower motor is worn and on its way out? I realize this is a 5th gen board and I have a 4th gen, the blower design seems to not have changed much.

Answered my own question, two days later the fan stopped again. Slapping it got it started again, I assume the brushes are worn down. The bearings are noisy as well. $90 at the local auto parts store and I have it now or $40 online plus shipping and i can get it here next week. It is 110 degrees in Phoenix, easy choice. Air works again!

, what exactly did you replace and where did you get it from? I think I have the EXACT same issues. Tried all the relay troubleshooting and no issues there. My fan was making noise right before it went out.
It's not that quite that hot in Alabama, but the humidity will make you cry!

I bought a new HVAC blower motor, it comes with the fan installed. I purchased it from a local auto parts store called O'riley Auto Parts. In my area it was $90, lifetime warranty and in stock. My girlfriend drives the 4Runner and I can't have her without AC
The full retail for the Toyota replacement is just over $200.

That being said, the unit came in a box labeled Impart Direct but the blower motor in the box was labeled Continental. I have to say the air does not seem to blow as hard as the original Denso blower motor. The highest speed seems to be more like med-low or med-high previously and we are not very satisfied with it.
I have ordered an replacement unit from an online Toyota dealer as their price significantly beat the local dealers price. Hopefully it will be a Denso and blow hard again
If I had to do it again I would be tempted to go to the dealer parts department and show them the best online parts price and see if they can match or get close and skip all this fooling around.
I will update you once the Toyota replacement arrives if the fan blows any better or not.

My blower went out a few years ago, Loud noise leading up to it. Got a new one via camelback Toyota. Ironically just started to be louder recently. Memory isn’t great but I think I replaced the first one around 110k on the truck. (165k now)
Schematic above shows the fan, super simple to replace. A bent Phillips screwdriver is very helpful.
