The cable I ordered looks exactly like the one rig ordered and the vendor made no mention of needing a VM.
My cables will arrive next week.

He told me that he would be willing to supply the 'Techstream software and cables' at his vendor's price; which is less than half what I paid directly from ebay $34.99 (no sale price), and was around $17 (and change).
Well, I responded to him with opened arms, seeing as how that's all I ever wanted for you all, to have these Techstream cables that run on win-7, 8, 10 (32 or 64 bit), at an affordable price... which is why I thought to start a "Group-buy" on this forum in the first place! He also said that he would be willing to run the Group-buy if I wouldn't mind. "Wouldn't mind???... I replied, I'd love that, Go for it!
So he'll be taking the names of those interested from this thread, and X-ferring them to a brand new thread in the very near future; and he has my Full-Support!, okay(?), so be quick to sign-up for this group-buy while the supplies lasts! 'Best to you ALL' and thanks
@ eHaze
rig, cheers!

My questions about install and setup:
software -
1. what versions of Windows are supported?
2. are there any special requirements for installing the software?
2.1. special drivers, updates, anything?
3. does the computer need to be offline when the software is running?
warranty -
what is your warranty and process for defective items?
Reply from vendor:
if a few people are interested, let me know and i will go ahead and buy 10.

Hey guys/gals, (Please read this entire post BEFORE going to the link below!
Here are some of the product details (in RED) that you 'most definitely' wanna see if you buy any 'Techstream Software & Cable' products:
The product details are in the link that I've provided below:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-VCI-J2...cAAOSwcjRbRncp
PC Requirements: <<
Works on all windows 32 & 64 bit including windows 10 <<
Only 1 GB of free HDD space <<
CD Drive <<
USB port <<
If you scroll down below the main ad and the competitor's ad's, you'll see my 'Techstream Diagnostics & Coding' product details where I got the copy/paste details! Hope this helps with some of this... frustrating confusion that's going on right now!
rig, cheers

I will ship out two of these kits for free to anyone that wants one.
The kit comes with:
cable

how-to video
My install effort is currently stuck at an error that says " unable to connect to vim".
