Serpentine Belt replacement

I can't find a good writeup or video on replacing the Serpentine Belt on a 5th gen. Everything I've found was for 4th or older. DIY: Changing serpentine belts on the V6 (1GR-FE) 4Runners https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K81zmYh6HTE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wg1AX77xEBQ
Can someone point me to a link or walk me through the process? focusing on the differences I'll find on the 5th gen vs the 4th gen procedures and videos out there. If someone has done this on both the 5th and older gens and the process and tools needed are the same, please let me know, I'll just follow that.

I will be doing this in my driveway with limited experience and tools. Specific questions I have are:

1) Is there a specialized tool(s) I can buy to make this a snap (the money i'm saving doing it myself justifies the cost in my mind). All the tensioner belt ratchet kits i've seen exclude toyota.

2) Toyota wants $81 for an OEM belt, https://parts.olathetoyota.com/oem-p...bC12Ni1nYXM%3D

yet I see MUCH cheaper ones (DAYCO, BANDO, CONTINENTAL) on RockAuto for $7 to $20. Theres even a BANDO clearance belt for under $5.00 with my part number (90916-A2015). Anyone have trouble with these aftermarket parts?

I have a 2010 Limited v6 4x4 at almost 100,000 miles.

Should I also change out the tensioner considering my mileage? Can I get a link or procedure on that as well?

I don't think there is much change from 4th gen to 5th gen 4.0L regarding the serpentine belt. I like the video shown below:

Thank you for the video link. Now I’m thinking I need to do this on a lift. Navy hobby shop in my area so I’ll probably use that. $8/hr shop fee. 👌🏻

Don't need a lift. Everything can be done from the topside. I just did mine 4 weeks ago; just need a socket and a ratchet to release the tensioner.

I guess "need" wasn't the best word to use here. The guy in the video sold me on how much easier it is to do it from underneath. I'm shooting for a cuss free operation here.

Bando is the OEM. They are cheap on Amazon and other places. A bit of a size controversy but no issues with either one as far as my limited research can reveal.
I bought one but haven’t replaced it yet. Maybe if you do a how-to thread I might get motivated.

Read this...
http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-ge...%3D-bando.html
Rock Auto directed me to a Bando 7PK2150 based on the truck I have on file with them, on clearance for under $5 - but the Bando website you linked directs me to a 7PK2145. The last 4 numbers I see represents its length in mm.

Anyone know if the extra 5 mm on the one I just ordered cause me a problem?

EDIT: Just read the rest of the thread you linked - now I get what you mean by controversy. Seems like it's an unanswered question 2145mm vs 2150mm. As cheap as they are compared to stealership prices, maybe I'll buy both and see what happens?

EDIT 2: Found this review on Amazon - sounds like the extra 5mm was a blessing to him when installing and didn report back any issues down the road
https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-r...SIN=B00E0EUWA0

EDIT 3: Then there's this guy who said his shredded in 4 days and destroyed a radiator hose. Could the extra 5mm have caused this? Maybe he installed it wrong - channels not all aligned? https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-r...SIN=B00E0EUWA0

EDIT 4: Interesting. Amazon "Check fit" calculator says the 2150 does NOT fit a 2010 4Runner Limited. Hmm.https://www.amazon.com/Bando-7PK2150...ywords=7pk2150

The $5 one on rock auto didn’t look like it listed a brand name. Check my math. 5mm difference between 2150mm and 2145mm is 99.8% . Not gonna make a difference IMO.
It’s entirely possible that the difference is to make price comparing between the Toyota part and Bando more difficult.

After a bunch of research, I plan on doing the Bando 7PK2145. I think people are getting away with the 2150 but are also saying it's easier to put on, which is a red flag to me.

I don’t know if the math is the same since it’s obviously not a pure circle. But the difference in diameter of a 2145 vs. a 2150 belt is 682.78mm vs 684.37mm. Which equals 1.59mm. I might change my mind while I’m installing it but that doesn’t seem like much.

Like from the factory or a B&M Toyota dealership theres a 2150 on your truck? The mystery deepens.

My 2016 also has 2150 printed on it. I don't know the spring tension but 5mm length may increase the overall tension (if using 2145mm) enough to impact the life of tensioner and bearings. I would just pay a few more $ and move on from the debate.
