great thread..thanks for consolidating all of this..been leaning towards the RCI..don't really need a skid plate but I like the idea of having easy access to the oil filter.

Hefty and MORE make it two more options that did not exist as recently as this time last year.
But both are aluminum only and the Hefty's price is a good match for the shop's name. I suppose the other one will be no different.
Why no 3/16 steel? Using discounts where available, I switched to armor for all essential spots (front, mid, transfer, gas tank, LCA brackets, and the rear Rockmen LCAs themselves) at the price of a partial aluminum non-RCI package. Ok.
I trust that a well-gusseted aluminum will take bad hits but that's 50% of the reason to upgrade from stock, the other one is dragging and aluminum won't do as well there.
I guess the intended audience is that of heavily built rigs where every next pound of permanent weight is an issue with the V6. Not that an overlanding rig on a 2" lift and 33s really needs any aftermarket skids. And if it does with that amount of clearance, it will want the steel version anyway.
All the while, my GX470 friend cannot find anything off the shelf for his rig. With a V8 standard, the GX can take steel all day long yet nobody seems to offer even a front 3/16 steel skid plate for it.
Is steel passe' ? Not cool?
My 2c.

LFD Offroad now has a KDSS version front skid available. Just though this information should be updated.

Victory 4x4 5th Gen Skids
Here are the Victory 4x4 prototypes of the Engine, Tcase, and Transmission skids. We don't yet have the gas tank skid prototyped but it will mount similarly to our Tacoma gas tank skid. (to the frame, not using the stock gas tank straps). They will be offered in 3/16" steel or 1/4" aluminum (mounting brackets will still be steel).
Follow this thread for prototypes, new products, and info about Victory 4x4!

That's pretty much what I already posted an hour before you. How about some good pictures of what we cannot see on the skids? Especially any reinforcements of the front skid and how it fastens to the 4Runner.

Source?
I looked at the web site and it still says "Fits Non-KDSS 2010+ 4Runners. Will not fit KDSS." for different models

Thanks for the post, I saw that after I posted. I just posted a couple more pictures of the underside of the skids in that thread. We will have more photos and a full install video in the near future.
