Just ordered

Just ordered from Jason. This is my second 4runner and although I'm fairly satisfied with the power on and off road, there have been many times when I've either been trying to pull out into traffic, merge onto the highway or get around an 18 wheeler and the lack of throttle response has left me in some hairy situations. Looking forward to trying it out.

I was a skeptic before buying the PC. After buying it I kept it in Eco Mode for the first week and didn’t see any major improvements. That being said, The remote starter is my best friend this time of year so my fuel economy is garbage anyways. Eco mode sucks. It turns the 4Runner into an absolute slug. I told myself that I’d return this little device if I didn’t get better fuel economy.

I’m on tank 2 now and I’m in City Mode -2. It’s wonderful and I’m keeping the PC. That’s it, that’s all, I don’t care what this little device does to my fuel economy.

Anyone that’s driven a late model BMW or similar can attest to how nice the different drive modes are. My BMWs had eco mode, normal or comfort mode, and sport mode. Those modes obviously didn’t change any power numbers, but by changing throttle input and shift points, they dramatically changed the driving experience depending on what you were looking for in a given situation. I’m hoping the sprint booster can bring me some of that improved throttle response for those times when I need it. I’ll post a review after install.

Pedal commander vs Sprint booster?

Sprint Booster order in to Burtman. Excited to see the difference.

Sprint Booster

Just a follow up on this - I installed the booster I got from Jason and as others have said it was super easy to get in. Spent more time zip tying stuff out of the way :-) To remove the factory clip on the pedal I used a curved dental pick to pluck up the latch on the plug - came out easy

So in terms of "using it" - it's been really awesome. Response is really improved. I've been running in green sport mode setting 7 - the red race mode is a bit too sensitive for my driving but I love that it has the option. I'll probably bounce around on it since I like gadgets.

Truck feels so much better in terms of response - for the money having a more enjoyable driving experience is totally worth it to me.

That is a great deal. I paid $250 on amazon for PC. Had for over a month and love it. The Bluetooth feature is rock solid. But it is just as easy to push the control box to change settings which I do Offroad or in snow (eco mode). I have the PC on other vehicles and never had anything but great experiences with them.

Love that there are other options available to keep prices reasonable for consumers and hear that Sprint Booster is great as well.

I ordered a Sprint Booster from Jason B after removing the Pedal Commander. Jason was great to buy from, excellent communication and fast shipping.

Now that I have used the SB for a month now, here is my experience with both.

They both do exactly what they claim to do - improved/adjustable pedal response and they are both easy to install.

PC - broad range of adjustability, app is cool but the Bluetooth gave me issues with my radio/nav (reboot) and the connection was glitchy at times.

SB - unit is really small and you can remove the switch from the device and it will still work on the last setting.

If I didn't have issues with the BT I would have kept the PC. I am happy with the SB and it makes driving my 4R a more enjoyable experience.

The Sprint Booster is awesome

It's about a 3rd of the size of the PC and will fit perfectly in one of the empty switch tabs. Also, for this application Bluetooth seems like an unnecessary PITA. I could change the setting on my SB 15 times before someone could unlock their phone, open the App and tap a few buttons... However, either one will easily provide more smiles per gallon. I wouldn't own a T4R without one.

I have had my Sprint Booster for 1 month now. Initially I thought I would never buy one, but after reading reviews, going back and forth, I finally just bought it and installed it. I am very impressed with how it makes the car respond. It has really woken up the fat hamster inside the wheel. It is totally worth the price and makes the car far more useable. I am a believer
