UltraSwing T4R Exclusive Preorder Deal

Hey T4R 5th Gen crew. I wanted to offer up a special promo to the community for anyone wanting to jump in on our preorder that ends 11/30 for the new UltraSwing hitch mounted tire/bike carrier.

In addition to 25% off + free shipping + a free RIGd shirt...

Use code: T4RCREW when you preorder the UltraSwing and get 10% off and free shipping on ALL FUTURE ORDERS from rigdsupply.com for one year. It's just another way for us to thank our early adopters and the 4Runner community we built this product for.

After the preorder is placed, a unique code will be given for you to use on any future orders. This code will only be valid on orders you place and cannot be shared. If the names don't match, the order won't ship.

We designed the UltraSwing because we wanted to be able to swing a tire AND a bike and weren't happy with the look and accessory mounting solutions of other options. We designed this first version specifically around the 5th Gen, however, it also fits 4th gens with factory V6 hitch

Also, let me know if you have any specific questions about the UltraSwing would love to talk more about features we built into it.

Cheers!

They should add some holes to the straight tube behind the tire. That way you could pin some sttachments to it that extend out next to the tire for thinks like a hi lift holder or for Jerry cans or whatever.

The UltraSwing will work on the V8!

The hitch assembly for the V8 version sits much lower because it has a drawbar to accommodate a higher tow rating. If you would like to run the UltraSwing you would simply need to swap out the V8 tow rated hitch with lower drawbar to the 4th/5th Gen hitch plate. As I mentioned before, The V8 tow rated hitch sits lower due to the drawbar.

When you swap it out for the lower profile and lighter hitch plate you will gain ground clearance, shave some weight and be able to run the Ultraswing!

I've attached a photo of the hitch plate you would need to swap.

We are working through some solutions for relocating the backup camera.

As you may or may not know is quite a process to access and remove the stock back up camera. Once it has been relocated the user would run into the issue of not having a camera in the hatch is they wanted to remove their UltraSwing for any reason.

I've been waiting for something like this forever. Thanks for building it. The video on your site did a pretty good job with most questions I had. I'm still a little concerned about the offset when a bike rack is on, since I ride a XXL Highball 29er (among others). A couple of other questions would be:

1. Does the arm still lock in the 180 degree position with a bike on? It seems like the bike rack would probably hit the 4Runner.

2. Is there a timetable for accessory availability, and will jerry can mounts/hi lift mounts be on the list of things available? And will they cost a million dollars each like BajaRack accessories ?

I'm really close to pulling the trigger on this, thanks.

Hey thanks for the questions. In terms of off-set concerns, what bike rack do you plan to run? For instance, with the original Thule T2 you can off-set the trays over 6 inches if that's a concern. However, I honestly have had no issues running it with no off-set. Also, for a frame of reference, the Large Enduro that we have on the back for most trips has a 1200 wheelbase. The XXL Tallboy is 1231 so not much different than what we've already run on cross country trips and experienced with no off-set on bike rack trays.

For the open positions lock, I added more holes (5 total) for the production run to hold it open wherever it ends up with your bikes on.

As for accessory mount timetable. Rago Fabrication is making a plate (currently cutting the first samples), so should only be a month or so before those are ready. Our goal is to hit close to the $100 mark for the full plate that you can mount almost anything to. However, there's also holes spaced for Rotopax (horizontal or vertical) on the flat vertical plate for production so you could run Rotopax direct with no additional accessories accept some longer bolts if running behind tire. The license plate relocation and Hi-Lift are also a direct mount for the production version so no added cost there.

Please let me know if you have any other questions

I use a Rocky Mounts tray that isn't adjustable (even if I drilled new holes to reset the front tire mount, the rear tire would fall off the back), but it sounds like that isn't the end of the world. Thanks for the info.

I expected to see some more action on this thread. I'm still really close to placing an order. Is there a reason people are shying away from this that I'm not seeing?

It's obviously still a good bit of money for something that makes your vehicle longer and heavier, but I would like to relocate my spare, and I have always wanted to be able to swing my bike rack out. Looks like adding an attachment for fuel and water cans would be pretty simple, too.
