Echo on the other end when using Bluetooth on the JBL system on 2019 TRD Pro
Everyone I talk to hears an echo of themselves talking. Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it? I am using an iPhone XS Max. Found a thread online with a recent issue with Camry’s but not seeing much info with 4R’s.

This is fairly common but it has nothing to do with JBL audio, FYI. This is all about Bluetooth, which is pretty crappy unfortunately.

I have had Bluetooth connections to 7 other vehicles, including 3 Toyota’s and have never had this issue before.

Turn your audio volume down and see if that solves it

It helps but does not eliminate and then is hard to hear the other party. Must be an isolated issue since no one else is having the problem.

Weird. Happened to me today also. I have had my 2019 about 3 weeks, but this may have been my first call in it.

I've had people complain about the echoing in our '15 Ltd. as well, it may have been worse with the iphone plugged into the USB to charge, but I never got around to doing any real testing of this theory.

I've noticed it in the 16, in mine I think it's a feedback loop between the microphone and speakers, made worse at high volume on the speakers

2019 TRD Pro. I phone X. No audio problems. You've updated the s/w on the head unit? If not give that a whirl.

This might have been covered, but how does one go about doing this? I have a Canadian market '15 Ltd. w/ JBL non-entune head unit if it makes a difference.

You have to get the entune app and an account on your phone and then connect to the head unit ... at that point if the truck's head unit s/w is out of date it will download an update using your phone.
I bought a 2019 a few weeks ago and the head unit needed an update.

Mine is non-Entune I believe (I don't think Canada got Entune), maybe it's not able to be updated the same way?

Huh. If that's the case, I think it's prob something to ask the dealer about - or maybe there is a thread somewhere on the forums about how to update.
